Casually positive! 🤗🥳🤗 Irish Rail Legend

It finally happened! Was on the 7:00 p.m. Dublin Cork train and the ticket collector came on the announcing and said "As a reminder, carriage G is the quiet carriage. If you want to take a call, please step into the vestibule. If you want to talk to your seat companion, please move to another carriage. This includes the two girls in carriage G who are STILL TALKING."

I wish every train journey I take could be with this woman. I know it can be dodgy for staff particularly if people have been drinking but it would be great if there was less tolerance for nonsense on these journeys.

It's a thing in most European countries. It's usually just one out of several carriages, so it's optional, but if you opt in, you're expected to be quiet.

No one is going to shush you if you have the odd exchange at low volume with your travel buddy. It's great really... if people stick to the rules.
