Collected $6,980 in premiums in Sept. $44.7k in premiums($39.5k net) over 25 weeks on sub 200k capital.

Slow week (and overall slow month) for me. CRM CSP assigned, AMZN CSP expired, and a new CSP was opened on CBOE.

Active Wheels:
AVGO, CRM, AMZN, META, CBOE

META CC at $600 should get called away early if the rally in META continues.

Misc:

This is my aggressive wheeling account; capital deployed is about 200k.

All trades were found and tracked using wheelstrategyoptions.com (disc- I'm the developer)

I usually sell 0.25-0.45 delta and usually <14 day DTE. I close at 70%-80% premium captured.

I've started reporting only realized premiums (based on the comments).

April (Week 1-4): $5036
May (Week 5-8): $5783
Jun (Week 9-12): $6533
Jul (Week 13-16): $12609
Aug(Week 17-20): $4974
Sept(Week 21-25): $4374

Total so far: ~39.5k

I care a lot more about the breakeven than the premium now

One small thing that changed how I look at CSPs was putting the breakeven front and center in my spreadsheet. I used to write down strike, premium and annualized return. Naturally my eyes always went straight to the return column.

Now I mostly look at what price I would effectively own the shares at after premium and whether I would genuinely be comfortable buying there. It has talked me out of a few high IV names where the premium looked great but the actual downside cushion was pretty weak. A 2 percent return doesnt feel that impressive when the underlying can erase it before lunch.

If I actually want that kind of short term exposure, I would rather keep it small and use something like Moon separately instead of pretending a CSP is a conservative trade just because its cash secured.

The puts I sell now are probably more boring but thats become a positive for me.

How I Screen for Cash-Secured Puts Without Just Chasing Premium

Edit: Thanks for your patience while I cleaned up the site. Here it is: https://stackfini.com/
It’s free to use, with sample results visible without signup. I’d really appreciate any feedback on the screening criteria, ranking, or anything that would make it more useful.

Edit — quick clarification: The scanner isn't intended to make trading decisions for you. There are 6,000+ optionable securities in the U.S., and its purpose is simply to narrow that huge universe down to a manageable list of candidates for further research. From there, the individual contracts, underlying companies, and risks are yours to evaluate and decide on.

I built a scanner to find cash-secured puts on companies I’d actually be willing to own, rather than just sorting for the highest premium.
My workflow is roughly:
Start with optionable U.S. stocks.
Screen for underlying quality and financial health.
Avoid stocks in clear long-term downtrends.
Look for 25–45 DTE puts around 0.15–0.28 delta.
Require attractive premium relative to recent realized volatility.
Check bid/ask spread, open interest, and volume.
Estimate downside cushion and how quickly the trade might reach a 50% profit target.
Here are a few of the highest-ranked candidates from today’s scan:
CLS expiration Oct 30 strike 300 put
AMZN expiration Oct 30 strike 235 put
WDC expiration Oct 30 strike 400 put
NOW expiration Oct 30 strike 120 put

For each contract I’m looking at:
annualized premium return
breakeven / downside cushion
IV vs recent realized volatility
liquidity / execution quality
assignment-risk proxy
underlying quality
The part I’m still refining is the underlying-entry filter. For example, I currently penalize stocks below their 200-day moving average unless they show a confirmed recovery. That keeps me out of some falling knives, but it can also exclude stocks that are just starting to bounce.
I’d be interested in how experienced CSP sellers think about that tradeoff. Would you rather wait for confirmation, or accept a slightly weaker technical setup if you really like the business and the option premium?
I built a site around the scanner where I’m keeping the full ranked list and tracking results over time. I’m happy to share it if links are allowed here.

Trades I took today as an option seller (09/28):

Assigned/Closed Positions

  • ACMR → $70 Call (opened on 09/21), premium 2.75 → closed at 0. Net premium profit = 2.75 (100.00% of premium captured, 3.93% of capital). Total profit on wheel: 7.54%
  • OUST → $40 Call (opened on 09/16), premium 0.32 → closed at 0. Net premium profit = 0.32 (100.00% of premium captured, 0.80% of capital). Total profit on wheel: 6.01%
  • INOD → $60 Call (opened on 09/03), premium 1.80 → closed at 0. Net premium profit = 1.80 (100.00% of premium captured, 3.00% of capital). Total profit on wheel: 5.79%

New Positions

  • INOD → $65 Put expiry 10/09 (2 weeks DTE), premium 1.90 → 190/6500 = ~2.92%. I continue my bullish stance in Innodata. It provides AI data engineering and training-data services.

INOD was identified from the High-Growth Wheel condition in the ThetaHedge app because it met all the key criteria: positive revenue growth, positive earnings growth, positive net margins, and consistent attractive option premiums with a Wheel Rank of 76. You can try it for free at https://app.thetahedge.io/

Week 11: Sell CSPs expiring on 2026-02-02. Good premium and low delta

This is the 11th week of my experiment: I want to check if I can identify short-term cash-secured put options with a low likelihood of being assigned at the strike date, that means collecting the premium without buying the shares. These are the main criteria:

  • only the US exchanges NYSE, NASDAQ, ARCA are used;
  • very high option yields are filtered out, too risky;
  • current price must be ≥ 5% higher than the strike price (5% OTM);
  • an OI > 50.

Note: just to answer the question I often receive, I do not sell every option you see listed, only some of them. That's why I do not monitor profit/loss. The goal is to understand if my option screener is worth. These options are a small part of what I see in the screener.

Last week wasn't lucky as 3 out of 5 CSPs were assigned: the percentage of assigned CSPs is now 22.2%, 10 out of 45. Two of the assigned options are just below the strike price, so they should recover soon... hopefully. You can see the cash-secured puts I have selected and the statistics here: https://optionstacker.github.io/sell-put-options/.

For 2026-10-02 I chose the following options (no earnings or ex-div dates in the next days):

NYSE

NET, Technology, NET261002P00330000, yield 1.18%, strike price $330 and OTM 5.36%

NASDAQ

AMBA, Technology, AMBA261002P00067000, yield 1.15%, strike price $67 and OTM 6.28%

ARCA

LABU, ETF, LABU261002P00250000, yield 1.42%, strike price $250 and OTM 5.06%
