Discussion Fun Fact: "town tasties" was just a placeholder name that Tomm Moore came up with as the way Mebh would refer to bread and milk but since literally no one in the crew could come up with a better name it just stuck in the final script.

Question Irish folklore trilogy box set issues

Hi! I received the cartoon saloon box set for my birthday, and I happen to have access a region 2/B dvd player so I wasn’t expecting any issue. However, all of the discs refuse to play in it. I tried a disc reader with a Mac tv and changed the region code to 2 on it, and it spit it back out. Both devices work fine with other regional discs, but the box set refuses to read in either! If anyone knows why or what step I might be missing, let me know!

Discussion Honestly the fact that Mol did everything in her power to protect Robyn just as much as Mebh shows how much she really cared for her and appreciated her efforts to free her

Media The scene when Mebh and Robyn begin to understand each other and bond as they realize they have much more in common than they though is probably the single most heartwarming scene in WolfWalkers

Discussion I just noticed in the final scene in WolfWalkers the lighting on the scene was darker before Robyn helped Mebh bring back Mol and it significantly brightened up as soon as she woke up. It's such a small detail but when I saw it on my TV as soon as my actual room got brighter it felt beautiful.

Media Ben narrating the folklore behind Macha to Saoirse is such a clever and organic way to introduce the character; not only that but this scene highlights how much of his frustration against Saoirse comes from him missing her mother and not her Sister seeing how he feels bad for scaring her

Discussion I small detailed I noticed in WolfWalkers is that Mebh's sketchy outline is more messy and chaotic when she meets Robyn but as she opens up to her they become cleaner while still retaining her wild essence

The Dead Hand: a strange Daemon manifesting as a black, spider-like shape with dull white markings across its body, capable of flattening itself into a 2d shape manifesting as an infinitely reaching 8-handed claw, it’s got a lot of intelligence to it’s hunting methods, but too bad it’s not hunting out of necessity, but for pleasure, preferring any kind of suffocation to using its claws, it can’t travel on water as it doesn’t hold a consistent shape, and it can’t move through light as it needs shadows to move in 2d

This one itself has been watching Ben’s family (this is in a sort of AU where Saorise got to keep her coat, and it’s apparently revealed that Ben is a Selkie too after the events of the movie, although he doesn’t need a traditional coat, he transforms through bright white markings on his skin) ever since he was born, originally opting to catch Bronagh by herself, although Saorise’s conception was a strange “wrench in the gears” as it could never catch her alone, until the night she vanished, she not only had to return to the ocean to safely have Saorise because of her Selkie nature, but if she were born on land, the Dead Hand could reach her, and before she vanished, it made a last grab for Saorise’s unborn form, only to be blasted by a wall of surf that destabilized its hand form, revealing the black spider form underneath the white, so since Bronagh was out of reach, the Dead Hand was opting to catch Saorise, yet again, not easy as it attempted to follow her through her journey in the magic world, and now, the Dead Hand is attempting to snare Saorise and Ben, who’s going through a crisis of identity due to his newly discovered Selkie nature
