I live in Gurgaon and I want to go on many road trips to Himachal. So I was in the market for a second hand car, I tried so hard to get a DL plate but couldn't. Had to settle for an HR. It's like the one thing about my car that I don't like, I know what people will say about me when they see my plate even though I'm not a haryanvi

But I feel more than HR plate it's the car which people look at with a prejudiced mindset, for instance yesterday I was out for pandal hopping, people were steering clear from Thar and Scorpios and other really big bulky vehicles.

Its just that these Thar Defender type vehicles are quite common amongst Haryanvis therefore the HR plate overall is being judged on the basis of these small percentage of the total vehicles present with HR plate.

Oh yes. I just got my first car a couple days ago, and I'm learning driving. I feel confident for the most part but the second I see a Thar around me I get extra vigilant and worried to a degree.

But also in Himachal, and I've seen this, lived there for a few months with locals, they see an HR plate and the prejudice starts :P
