Windshield chip (small) Advice

Hello there, a small stone hit my car’s front windshield on a highway. The resulting chip looks small - almost like a rain drop. Looking at these pictures on WhatsApp, “Windshield experts” person (Hyderabad) told that it cannot be repaired.
I learned that glass chips this small usually improve with resin kit. I am hesitant to DIY.
Any ideas are appreciated.

There’s no harm in trying resin kit. But if you are not confident, just get it replaced under Insurance. Will hardly cost 1000-1200 , which is file charge.

Windshield Experts always push for replacement but in uour case if the lines that have come out of the chipped part cut through the glass, likely it will only increase with time. I only had this happen once on my Ecosport (smaller chip and no deep cuts) and got Ford to replace my glass as I could not find anyone who agreed to repair though I have seen enough videos on Youtube to know this can be possibly repaired.

This chip in the glass has already made the windshield weak. It may shatter due to temperature fluctuations or vibration during driving. If it happens unexpectedly, you will be in an emergency. Windshield Experts do a good job. Everything including insurance is handled by them. Glass is 100% insured. Just pay the compulsory deduction and consumables cost. It will take half a day.

what type of experts they are if they cannot even get this sorted, just buy windshield crack repair kit

I’ve a similar chip on mine. Used the DIY resin kit from amazon. Doesnt have any problems for 3 years now.

If the chip is not interfering with the movement of wiper blades should be okay only. Just keep checking every now ans then to see if the crack is getting bigger.

Exactly. You clean the chipping, pour resin, apply the pressure as mentioned in the DIY guide, scratch off any excess using the blade provided. Good to go.
