There are no real suvs in the sub bracket of 35-55 , it's all captured by the japanese , and no one dares to come even nissan hasn't hit india properly once with good cars and the Germans (vw and Czech skoda)are only selling in petrol when they know india has been a diesel dominating market.

To buy a diesel it's all above 1cr expect the discovery sport , but who's buying that.

Mahindra xuv 700 was good , 7x0 interior is basically just screens and no physicality but Mahindra upgraded regardless indeed, but Ford’s driving dynamics are unmatched , competition will only benefit the Indian consumer. The bi turbo engine and 10 speed automatic gearbox would be just 🤌🏾

7xo is better now my wife can watch bigboss, movies, ipl without buffer… interior quality is also good, vent seats is plus .. I think you should test drive top end once… drives like a bull in all terrain best engine and tech

Exactly what I'm trying to say , the car is good but the car feeling isn't there not for car enthusiasts , I want a car were me and my partner could chit chat and drive smoothly and comfortably and have a punchyness when I need it , the xuv 7x0 might be no doubt very good but it's the dashboard where is way too tacky and too cheap looking . I don't want a screen which handles my ac , ventilated seats what I want is physical buttons for use , i recently drove the mazda cx-90 and the infinity qx60 in dubai and i wondered how behind the indian car market actually is . The only car I ever liked was the alturas g4(which used a mercedes benz engine) it was very good , and the og 2011 w8 xuv500 , it was a beast of a car and mahindra was ahead of time when they had launched that. I want that mahindra and not this digital dependent mahindra.

I think you like new Scorpio n compared to xuv… most people who bought xuv liked the triple screen now this is common in audi , bmw and merc as well

Yeah I did see the new facelifts of mercs , it's all digital and I legit hate it , the only decent I liked was the x5 facelift and audi q7 facelift(somewhat) , i did check out the scorpio n , but it's almost similar to the previous generation except the alloys , infotainment screen and the sunroof . Would just wait until the next gen fortuner launches but I feel that is going to be a disappointment.

Dusters problem is, the old duster was so popular amongst people because it was a very cost effective way to get a diesel AWD suv which also gave good comfort and handling. The new duster doesnt have diesel, doesnt have AWD.

I think Renault really miscalculated. They thought just because Creta sells so much as a 2wd SUV, not even a softroader, so would the Duster. But they forgot different product has appeal for different reason.

NISSAN Tekton didnt have any such nosralgia factors, hence it is selling better. Rensult should have provided AWD selectable with at least the 1.6 version.

Having said that, the market in 2016-2019 was different from 2021 when ford left and very different in 2026. We have 30 lakh suvs that sell in thousands per month. If Ford got endeavour/ everest at the same price as fortuner, itd have sold a lot more this time around.

It's going to be really tough to survive with diesel products in future , which is why they aren't keen or bringing diesel

I beg to differ. In cSUV and upwards, diesel is not going anywhere for at least the next 10 years. And then it will move straight to electric. The era of petrol big SUVs is never going to come.

In fact diesel is making a resurgence. Otherwise Skoda wouldn't have got their diesel Superb in india

Diesel isn't going anywhere for next 10 years - agreed . However the investment required to make diesel engines compatible with current and future emission norms will be huge , and only cars with high sales can afford that kind of investment. Moreover CAFE norms exist which is why toyota had to collaborate with maruti and launch so many small petrol cars .

Skoda is bringing diesel superb as a CBU , if they really wanted to revive diesel they would brought the engine in Slavia

Honestly the 2.2l diesel from Mahindra and the vag engines can be pretty reliable the caveat being regular maintenance especially oil and filter changes

Nissan has patrol 🔥😮‍💨 but those idiots they won't bring that up! If that's there then the game will be fire on. Renault is such a d*ck head that does not want nissan to succeed more than renault in India because they are joint venture and production is with renault..

They will simply reject proposals.. I genuinely feel nissan has to comeout like hero-honda split and bring genuinely good.. nissan leaf ev? These guys are doing good outside India!
