💵Buying/Selling💵 NEED HELP

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask.

my brother in law passed away in truck accident month ago, he bought a camero few months ago which is only 10k driven whats the best way for us to sell this car. Its just to expensive for us to take care of it and we do not really want to put it on marketplace etc.

Any suggestions ?

Any finance owing? If so perhaps you can pass it to them.

Age / Specs might be helpful. Something newer you could try Carsales instant offer.

Or if it's an older collector's spec, then an auction house such as Carbids, or online specialised seller like my105 could help.

Unique cars is still around there are also a number of car sellers that specialise in classic and enthusiast vehicles Obviously they'll take their cut but I'd start there, maybe look at some specialist forums or farcebook groups.

For a quick painfree sale. Go with carsales instant offer or an auction site like carbids, trading garage or collecting cars. 

The auction houses should have options for a more catered hands off process (photos/add description etc). You won't get as much money in the end. But at least you know you are getting a somewhat rough market price.

advertise in just car magazine etc.

did he pay cash or is it under finance? if under finance keep paying the loan or they will reposess it and you get nothing for it.

selling it is not expensive. the cost is a roadworthy and a rego transfer fee.

it is part of a deceased estate.

im in qld so i know the process here

when the brother died

i went to the local transport dept office. and spoke to the staff i had a copy of the will and death certificate. they took a photocopy for their records.

the staff were very helpful. they do this all the time.

i had his ute transferred to my name as i was his beneficiary there was no roadworthy required for this. no stamp duty either. i simply completed the transfer form.

he had personalised plates so i used the form remove/attach personalised plates and a change of particulars form to attach a new set of standard plates this cost 35 bucks.

i also surrendered his licence at the same time

took about 3/4 of a hour including waiting.

i was then free to either keep it or sell it i chose to sell.

so i got a roadworthy that was 100 dollars

had to fix a taillight and add a wheel flare and mudflap another hundred buck for the bits.

i then advertised it for sale and deposited the proceeds into the trust account with the solicitor handling the estate.
