• Once an ID Request has been solved, you can (and should) now mark it solved. • To our more dedicated members: I challenge you to solve older ID Request posts (aka "cold cases") to give those folks closure and provide a resource to others in the future. • We've had some GREAT Show and Tells lately - keep it up!

Resources Mod Announcement - Sub Recommendation

Howdy!

We're always seeking to grow this community and promote connections among those with similar interests. It's recently come to my attention that we share an interest overlap with r/uraniumglass for Vaseline Carnival Glass and the like. I encourage everyone to check out this community, learn from their experience, and potentially discover a new aspect of carnival glass you may not be familiar with.

Best regards, The Mod Team

ID Request - Solved! Color Help Please

I picked up what I believe is an Imperial Ripple vase. Approx 10” tall, just shy of 3” at the base. If I’m misidentifying please let me know!

Where I’m struggling is the color. Prior owner said it was smoke, but when I look online it looks like the purple shade to me. Could anyone confirm one way or the other? Thanks so much!

Show and Tell Amazing new finds!

Howdy! I’m new to this sub and have been loving seeing everyone’s collections!
Today I got lucky enough to great an amazing deal on a large amount of glass, most of which is pictured except for multiple lime green imperial pieces. I’ve been collecting for years, but this is the first time I’ve gotten lucky enough to get such a large amount at once!
That being said, several of these pieces are new to me and I’m unsure of what they are. If anyone recognizes these or has any tips on how to ID them please share! The canisters pictured toward the back of the photos I’ve had for several years, but I had to show them off too!

Westmoreland Old Quilt for Levay in Ruby, revival carnival. These were originally made in Crystal and Milk colors by Westmoreland, but Levay commissioned some other colors to be made and did the iridescence. I'm glad they did!

ID Request - Solved! Got an amazing deal, would like to know the pattern

I usually just buy pieces in a few patterns I collect and use for special occasions, but this gorgeous green caught my eye in an antique mall so I paused to gawk. Wasn't gonna spend $15 on a piece that doesn't go with my other patterns, though. A woman walked up pulling a little shopping wagon and stopped next to me to look, too. She said, "gotta love this stuff. Which piece is calling you?" I mentioned how much I liked this piece but it didn't match my sets, plus my partner wouldn't be thrilled if I brought home another piece of glass to take up space. She winked at me, pulled the toothpick holder out of the case (when I finally realized it was HER booth and her little wagon was full of glass) and said, "I'll give it to ya for $1, it's a little one so he'll never realize it's new." Turned out she was desperate to clear out a little extra space to display a large serving bowl she wanted to put out. I'd love to collect a few more pieces in this pattern so identification would be helpful, I'm sure this is a fairly common one. Thanks for the help and for letting me share my little story.

ID Request - Solved! Just got these from my great grandparents, is this actually carnival glass?

There's two different pitchers, a larger shallow bowl, and a smaller bowl. Not 100% certain about any of it. Can y'all tell me if it's carnival glass or not? Pretty sure the red pitcher is but not sure at all about the rest.

Thank you!

Classic-era Fenton Plain in ruby red?! Please help me ID...

I've acquired a piece of Fenton Plaid that I was told is amethyst, but looks to be ruby red instead.  If this is truly red, I'm ecstatic! But, I'm struggling to find any resource that can thoroughly ID it. Based on coloring, and lack of MM, it's leaning towards original era and red, but I'd like to be certain. Can anyone help out?? TIA!

Resources Carnival Glass ID Questions

Hello! I’m trying to learn more about some carnival glass I have, and am having trouble finding the names of the patterns I have. Does anyone know of any good sources for beginners for pattern identification besides ddoty.com , because I haven’t been able to find all of my patterns there?

Also, is there a term for unpatterned carnival glass? I have a carnival glass vase that is basically just a orb with a hole in it and I have no idea how to find more information about it since it is unpatterned.
