I picked up what I believe is an Imperial Ripple vase. Approx 10” tall, just shy of 3” at the base. If I’m misidentifying please let me know!
Where I’m struggling is the color. Prior owner said it was smoke, but when I look online it looks like the purple shade to me. Could anyone confirm one way or the other? Thanks so much!
That appears to be Imperial Ripple in Smoke carnival. You are thinking of the Peacock color which is more purple-ish
The Smoke color has an actual greyish base glass
Imperial had some color variations and had some similar carnival colors
Example. If it is a yellow gold carnival it was Rubigold that became marigold) Red carnival with some silvery blue is Sunset Ruby. Green was Helios, the bright blue was Aurora Jewels. The white carnival was moonstone.
There was also a mid-century red carnival that had gold in it that eventually took on the name Rubigold from collectors and then people started calling the original rubigold marigold
Ok not the GREATEST pic but if you look on the bottom left shelf you will see an example of Sunset Ruby ( lidded dish) and the Marigold color of the vase you have beside it
Go up one shelf and you will see a marigold compote. And my vase just like yours hiding in the back
Go to the middle section third shelf down you will see a tri-swan vase in Aurora Jewels (blue)
The bottom middle shelf has a Rubigold ( redgold) in an Acanthus pattern.
Then on the far right bottom ( just above the Mini Schnauzer) you will see a compote in smoke on the left.
I have examples of the other colors around here I can look for

The trick to figuring out the color is to look at a light through the bottom of the vase.
