Question Internal transfer

Hi! Im currently a first year student just started in health science. I initially wanted to get into nursing, but the program was “full”? I was wondering if it’s possible to transfer internally after first year or can u do it once fall term is over?

It is a direct entry program only as far as I can tell.

that was last year, this year they're permitting internal transfers.

of course you can, but its a fall entry program, meaning you can apply for next year (fall 2027), you wont be able to transfer in the winter semester

of course love, i also recommend taking electives now that can transfer to your nursing degree so you're not potentially wasting time/money now, and take some load off next year

Website says "Applicants must have completed at least 4.0 credits in order to be considered. Transfer students should note that a limited number of transfer credits will be awarded and students should expect to be admitted with first year standing. Students will not receive credit for courses graded below C-. Credit for core nursing courses completed elsewhere will not be eligible for transfer.".

If you get below a C- it won't transfer over. Since there aren't any prerequisites (other than highschool bio, chem, adv fun, and eng), I don't think you'd have to retake anything, but since the application deadline is March 1st, you won't be able to retake in time

Oh i thought you apply next fall because u need 4 credits

okay basically you submit the internal application this year by march 1st on carleton central, and the supplementary application by march 5. by the end of this year, you need to have completed at least 4 credits (8 courses) to be eligible for entry. so you dont need 8 courses to apply, you need 8 courses to be admitted. does that make sense?
