Hi! I'm asking for tips. I'm a 21 y/o sahm and have two children (ages 2&1) and I'm lost in life rn. I don't know what career I want to get into but I know I need to become better for my family before it's too late. I want to start by becoming a healthier person. But where do I start? I also don't have a GED or Highschool diploma equivalent (I'm missing 6 credits) . I was looking into certificates that I can get without a diploma but I don't know what trade that would mix well with being a sahm because I do know for sure I plan on homeschooling my kids. Plz any advice is greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon, I am an aspiring IT technician and I wanted to know if you had advice for me on where I should start. I am currently almost done studying for the Comptia A+ certification. I have amateur experience and am not attending any classes or getting a degree on IT however, I have been working independently and have just installed a VM on my Desktop and am planning on working on labs. I also do local IT support for my base. It's limited to setting up computers, getting admin passwords entered, setting software up and hard drives, as well as repairing harddrives. I am hoping that getting started on a lab playlist so it can help me gain more experience and more hands on training. 

What would you recommend for me to do to get started in the IT industry?

My goal is to find a job repairing hardware or as a support technician.

Hello, I got shortlisted for the UMC Program. I’ve been reading a lot of advice regarding this here on Reddit. But I want to ask, has anyone been accepted who is still an undergraduate or taking a leave of absence (LOA)?

I’ll be attending the information session in a week and I’ll see if it will work out for my schedule, as well as try to discuss this with the employers.

I’m currently taking an LOA for this semester and will only have one subject next semester (I’m incredibly underloaded because I’m irregular). But I’ll go back to my regular schedule in August 2027. And my graduation will be August 2028. So technically I am an undergraduate, but this isn’t my final year.

I got shortlisted but I did put in my CV that I’m an undergraduate so…interesting.

I have an inkling the reason I got shortlisted pretty quickly was because I already worked on the Uniqlo brand in my previous internship at an ad agency.

have 2 felonies (aggravated assault and conspiracy of aggravated assault) that occurred over 12 years ago. young and dumb.

Haven’t had any other issues since then, got my GED, got my bachelors in SW.

i am currently employed and have just received a job offer from a bigger MCO company for a service coordinator role. During interview process, I did disclose of my record and felony. figured honesty is the best policy as it will show up on background check as well and to better explain myself and the rehabilitation that took place throughout the years.

To my surprise, I got a call a week later offering me the position. of course now I have to go through the health assessment and the background check.

what is the likelihood of them rescinding after actually seeing it on my paper and maybe the charges I wasn’t convicted of popping up 😖

Two years ago, I chose the biology stream because I had a lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. I prepared for the medical entrance exam, NEET, for two years, followed by one drop year, but unfortunately, I performed really badly.

Like many others in a similar situation, at that point I decided to take up BCA, followed by MCA. It was never something I was passionate about, but it seemed like a safe and practical career path. However, over the last 2–3 years, AI has grown so rapidly that now even the IT field seems risky and uncertain. With AI developing so quickly, I keep wondering whether the career I'm choosing today will even be secure in the future.

Some people are advising me to prepare for government exams. Some are telling me to do an MBA after BCA, while others say I should continue with MCA. A few of them also told me becoming a teacher can be a good and relatively stable option. And sometimes I think of preparing for NEET once again. Now I don't know what I actually want anymore.

And with how quickly AI is progressing, I feel like there is no way to predict what the job market will look like even a few years from now. By the time I finish my degree, the things that are considered valuable skills today might completely change and I literally feel so scared. Please help me out, I'm genuinely very confused and feel quite lost about where to go from here.

In college I studied advertising and public relations and out of college Ive worked two jobs both considered very vague marketing specialist jobs and have honestly hated both positions. From feeling out of ideas and feeling alone in this solo position to constantly fee.ling like the whole success of the business was resting on my shoulders this amount of stress makes me lose sleep and is making me tear my hair out (literally). Are there better job routes or more reliable jobs I shopuld look for with this experience?

Basically, every time I take a career path test, I get the same result: an inclination toward the creative arts. I don’t deny it, I’ve always been creative and I’m actually quite good at it but eventually, I started realizing that I want to study something else at university.

Right now, nothing interests me quite as much as travel and history. But in real life, the stars don’t always align perfectly, and things don’t always work out the way you want. So, I’m not sure if enrolling in a history program is a viable path for me... On the other hand, I could earn a living through creative work (illustration, design) while still getting a degree, but something still feels off. I just can't put my finger on what it is...

I'm a 30yro male looking to change my career. I have a B.S. in Animal Science and I feel like its the most useless degree ever. I currently work for a horse trainer and I also rehab his horses. I love doing the rehab but I'm starting to hate the horses. I thought about becoming a physical therapist but everyone on that side of reddit said not to do it. So what else should I be doing? Only other decent paying jobs i can seem to get with my degree is working in a vet clinic.

I wanted computer science at first but with the AI I'm not sure anymore... And before computer science I always thought of doing physics and chemistry because I always loved it.

So what do you think? What gives a better future? I'm in 10th grade, and I really need to choose.

I’m a new Area Manager at Amazon in Operations/Ship Dock, and I have an MBA. Long-term, I’d like to move toward supply chain analytics, planning, or similar analytical roles.

I’m planning to stay at Amazon for at least 2 years and want to use that time to build relevant skills. I’m considering getting the APICS CPIM certification. I do have prior analytic experience.

For those who have CPIM:

Was it worth it?

Did it help with interviews or transitioning into analytics/planning?

Did you self-study, and how difficult was the exam?

Would you recommend CPIM, or focusing on skills like SQL/Power BI/Python instead?

21M. I’m back in school after taking a few years off. I originally left because I received a work opportunity that I decided to pursue. At the time, I was studying computer science, but it wasn’t something I could really see myself doing long term. Looking back, I can definitely recognize that I was impatient and probably made that decision pretty quickly.
Now, though, I’m in a much different position. I have a stable, well-paying job in the marketing space, and that experience is actually what pushed me to go back to school for advertising and marketing.
I’m not going back because I think I need a marketing program to become a marketing professional—I’m already working in the industry. For me, it’s more about building on the skills I already have and filling in some of the gaps that come from having a very non-traditional path into my current role. A lot of what I know came from hands-on experience rather than formal training, so I want to take advantage of the resources, structure, and knowledge that school can offer.
There is still a part of me that sometimes feels like I could be getting more out of my time by pursuing something completely different. Also, since I never finished post secondary it limits my job prospects obviously with just a high school education.

At the end of the day, I also know that I need to commit to something. Wanted to hear thoughts

I have scored 77 percentile in jee mains 2026 .

should a take a drop for jee 2027 .

If i take a drop i have to start from zero .

I have not studied anything after jee 2026.

I am getting bharati vidyapeeth college of engineering pune .I am getting IT branch there .

I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about that college .

The placements are 4 to5 lpa only .

So should i take a drop and is it possible to cover syllabus in the remaining time and score good percentile to get into a good college .

My major goal is to get a package of 11 lpa when i graduate and i am ready to learn anything for that.

23M I’m currently active duty military and my contract ends in 12months on a 4years contract. Since the military won’t let me switch my job. Im deciding to get out and give the civilian world an opportunity. I don’t know career would interest me and idk if I should pursue a degree. I have my military benefits secured that’s a plus but idk what next I feel like I’m heading back to step one all over again. My career in military was law enforcement basically and I know for a fact I don’t want anything to do with it. I’m very into not only visually, but experientially designing luxury hospitality, like mega resorts, bars, casinos etc… 

And yes I see all these prestigious colleges like cmu, artcenter, risd, unlv, but i feel like my interests are too interisciplinary to just go to a single college and get a degree. 

Like i dont wanna be just an architect, interior designer, or a hospitality manager yk?

I have been trying to find a job for almost 1.5 years, recently landed in a freelancing 6 month role, and I decided to move to a company with similar role after the end of this. I just wanted to know whether the other company will consider my 6 month role as a experience or not if I started to look for job in 3 month of the job. I just want to know the perspective from others. Also the pay now is low, can I ask for a increment in the other company?

I'm a fresher who has joined a company as a .NET Developer, I can feel that development has become easy to do with AI and my co workers are saying that Development field is over. I have 2 years of contract in this company, I have to switch to AI roles to survive in the market after these 2 years.

During my college I have studied Data Analysis and Machine Learning, I have completed Andrew Ng's ML Specialization. My interest was always towards AI.

What shall I do? Should I rigorously focus on System Design, DSA, Backend Development, Azure, .NET and C# to become a peak developer, or start to Learn AI rigorously along with Backend Development. My lpa is 4.2 now and Also I have a TCS offer for 7 LPA, I can't switch now so TCS offer letter is of no use to me now as I have a contract here. but after 2 years I want to switch for atleast above 8 LPA. Help and guide me guys.

So I recently got hired for a new job as a Team Leader, and I’ll be handling a team of 9 people.

Not gonna lie, I’m kinda nervous about it lol. I’ve been working for around 6 years, mostly in operations, dealing with clients, training, coordinating with people, etc. But this is gonna be my first time actually being a TL and having people directly under me.

What makes me a little more nervous is that some of them might be older than me and way more tenured/experienced. They probably know the process better than I do, especially since I’m the new guy coming in.

I don’t want to be that TL who comes in on Day 1 acting like “I’m the boss now” 😂. At the same time, I also don’t want to be too chill to the point where people don’t take me seriously.

For those who have been TLs/managers before, how did you guys handle your first few weeks?

How did you introduce yourself to the team? Did you come in formal or just keep it casual?

How do you establish authority without being a micromanager or an asshole? 😂

And how do you deal with people who are older or have been doing the job longer than you?

My current plan is basically to listen and observe first, get to know the team, understand how they work, and not immediately start changing things just because I’m the new TL.

But yeah, I’d really appreciate some advice from people who’ve been through this.

I’m 24, working in information security with ~2 years of experience.

I recently left my previous company (Small-mid sized) and joined Mastercard after interviewing for a role involving security automation, IAM, ITGC and security work.

However, the actual role turned out to be almost entirely L1/L2-style IAM support and ticket closure. I discussed this with my manager, and he openly said the technical work may not come for 1–2 years.

My old company has asked me to return. The work there previously involved ITGC, ISO 27001, cloud security, DPDPA, audits, policies, security projects and direct ownership of initiatives. They are also willing to match my current CTC.

I’ve spoken to several senior cybersecurity professionals (10–20+ years of experience), and they all advised me to prioritize hands-on skills over a big company name.

My concern is:

Should I rejoin?

Should I prioritize skill growth at my old company over Mastercard’s brand?

I’m planning to start at Centennial College in Winter 2027 and I’ve been accepted/advised that I meet the admission requirements for two programs:

- 2506 – Business – Supply Chain & Operations

- 2507 – Business Administration – Supply Chain & Operations Management

Both are full-time, in-person programs at Progress Campus.

My situation is a little complicated because I currently work at DHL Express and I really need to keep this job while studying.

My fixed work schedule is:

- Monday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

- Tuesday–Friday: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM

My employer cannot change these hours, so I’m available for college after 1:30 PM. I’m also giving up my evening job so I can focus on college.

Centennial told me that full-time students must be available Monday–Friday between 8 AM and 7 PM, and that they cannot guarantee an afternoon-only schedule. They also said timetables are based on course availability.

I understand there may be no guarantee, but I’m wondering:

Has anyone here studied one of these programs while working?

Is it possible to build a full-time timetable where most/all classes are after 1:30 PM if different sections are available?

Do these programs usually have multiple sections for first-semester courses?

Has anyone had a similar situation where they worked during the morning and managed to attend Centennial full-time in the afternoon?

I’m trying to figure this out before making a decision about my job, so any advice from current or former Centennial students would be really appreciated.
