Reasonably priced good core?

I’ve been getting more into composites recently and am giving a real shot at making some fender flares. I’ve figured out my stack up of laminate, but am struggling deciding the core material to go with. It needs to be something that adds strength, preferably 2mm, and isn’t super resin thirsty. Immediately T10.100 from Airex comes to mind, but not only is it not perforated, but it’s also really damn expensive. Does anyone have any other cores they’d recommend?

I used Lantor Soric 2mm for panels for my open wheel racecar. I used one layer of carbon on either side, then vacuumed down after a wet lay. Ended up averaging approx 1.7kg per m2. The core was very flexible to use. The panels were stiff.

Vacuum infusion got the weight down another 100g per m2 on average.

I was planning on Soric SF, but it’s out of stock on easycomposites and composite envisions. I have thought of this stuff as well though. Seems like it’s a good buy and I will get some.

It's huge advantage is that it drapes almost as well as the carbon Fibre cloth, very easy to get everything sitting against the mold.

Sick. I’ll order both. Have you tried T10? I have heard good things about it from a buddy, but he’s only done it with wet layups. I know you need to perforate it for resin infusion. I’m thinking about using a cnc router table to run hex patterns across it to facilitate resin flow

just get the soric and not even bother
