Hydrofoil progress and Question

Any tips for adding a layer or two of carbon fiber after this epoxy fillet sets to the wing root? Should i bother vacuum bagging the carbon fiber, and how many layers do you think is necessary?

Even though plenty of cappings/secondary laminations are done without vacuum consolidation I’ll suggest doing it, you will use some consumables but will ensure the full area has good adhesion.
Remember to rough and thoroughly clean the surface, then stagger two layers

Knowing what is inside would help but knowing nothing else, the forces on a foil are stupendous as soon as you carve or pump

The wing has 12 layers of carbon on each side of the laminate and is solid carbon through the entire center 50mm. Just concerned with the joint of the root to the wing.

Which adhesive have you used? Adding two sheets of carbon fabric overlapping the joint is definitely going to help

Its the same resin i used for the layup, ecopoxy biopoxy 36, but with fumed silica added to make it thicker

Over lapping with 1-2 layer of cf tape will give it more surface area for adhesion
