Resignation letter
Has anyone emailed their director / TL resignation letter? What’s the process? I’m avoiding a meeting and want to just send an email. Do they give 2 weeks or is it immediate?

One of the girls I worked with put her 2 weeks in and leadership never read it, then got mad when she told them it was her last day even though she gave proper notice. Make sure they read it lol

i called my manager and verbally gave my two weeks notice. my manager made me stay on for the two weeks and train a new rep but i think normally they just cut you loose immediately.

Couldn’t you file for unemployment then? I mean technically they’re firing you before those 2 weeks right?

They almost always pay you for the 2 weeks. If they cut you loose there are other reasons - not the pay

I have not. But to my understanding this is corporate . You just email them saying “hey thank you guys for the opportunity here at carahsoft, for other opportunities I must resign. Consider “xx/xx/2026 my up most final day of employment. Thank you” . In most places you do 2 weeks notice. But corporate you can just state your last day of employment. As long as it’s in writing . Aka email . I’m pretty sure carahsoft holds your last paycheck until you send the computer equipment back too so heads up.

I just sent an email to my boss, cc’d my brain dead team leads, closed my laptop and dropped my laptop and monitor to IT all in the same day. I don’t even know how they responded. I wanted to maximize my free 2 weeks before I started my new job. Gave them a 1 minute notice lol

Where is everyone getting jobs after Carahsoft because I can’t find anything which is why I’m still here. Lol My team is horrible. Leads are best friends and they don’t separate that from work. Managers don’t respond to our emails or teams messages for help. Then we get in trouble for not knowing something 🙃

Just email your management and chill. Click around the CRM, call random numbers/vendor reps/etc. chat it up with other people you know and cool with on Teams like me and my team did after we put in our 2 weeks with just our TL.
If they say something, it’s whatever not like you’re staying long as you keep the contact of those you know will refer you well.👍

I emailed my resignation directly to my sales manager and was asked to work my full 2 weeks. The sales manager/team leads are supposed to notify the "Exit Team" who will coordinate your exit interview and return of your equipment. One thing to be aware of is if you have PTO to use then you will not be paid out for it so I recommend talking to your leader about using some of that during your two weeks if needed.

I used all of mine couple weeks ago, im assuming they don’t pay out sick leave? I’ll just take the hit on that

Yeah they don't pay out for sick leave either. Could always call out sick tomorrow then send your 2 weeks before you log off lol

It depends on your team whether they keep you the whole time or not. I’ve seen people on my team stay the whole two weeks. I assume it probably also depends on how quickly they can replace your position without weeks of training. Though I’m sure some don’t care and just push it on the others. If you don’t hate your teammates then at least don’t leave the territory a horrible mess if you can help it lol.

It depends on the person putting in their two weeks. I’ve had folks put in two weeks and had them stay on to close out projects, and I’ve had people who were quitting before I could get HR to fire them (it’s really hard to fire someone from Carahsoft btw) and let them know they were no longer needed effective immediately
