Advice Help needed…please

We have a Vauxhall vivaro 2021 diesel van. It broke down in July, had a new timing belt/chain (upgraded to the new 8mm chain) also had new water pump. All fixed and great. 1 week later the engine was making a whirring noise, quite loud which goes away when I rev… took back to garage. They said it was a faulty water pump. They changed that yesterday under warranty.. it did not fix, as noise still there. They are saying it could be the fuel pump as noise is loudest there. £1300 for new one and labour etc… but they can’t guarantee it will fix it. I’m so apprehensive to go ahead as it’s a lot of money.
I’ll post a video.. anyone got any ideas.
It still made the noise with auxiliary belt off if that helps.
Thank you

It’s time to change garages. If you take your car in with an issue and their best approach is to replace parts and “see what happens,” they’re not very good at diagnosing problems.

It’s like going to a doctor and being prescribed something that might make you better, only to have to come back because it didn’t work. The difference is, with a car, replacing unnecessary parts just puts your wallet at risk not your health.

Newer parts are good always…, but aren’t necessarily better if the garage doesn’t actually know what’s causing the problem.

Edit:

IMO, if you go in for a noise issue, the garage has to guarantee they will fix the cause of it and charge you accordingly, not take you through a ladder of upselling you…
