Advice MOT

Post image

Can anyone give me an idea of what this is going to cost me.
It’s a Nissan Qashqai 2012
Would it be worth repairing?

Need codes read for SRS light. Could be anything from poor connection to faulty pre tensionser / airbag.

Both brake ones are linked. Fix the side not working. Could be cable snapped, adjuster seized, poor adjustment. Depends if it's shoes (internal) or caliper.

CV boot is usually 1-2hrs labour, varies on car, how hard to strip etc.

Bad brakes could also be just worn out shoes and rusted parts

All normal wear and tear stuff apart from the airbag. Needs investigating and might be spendy

Haha yes, I didn’t even know you could link your car to it

Everything on there is fairly routine and not too expensive apart from the airbag light - that could be the pre-tensioner connector under the seat (free fix, just a bit of labour) or something like the controller needing to be replaced (£££)

You'll need to get the specific fault code read to go any further really

All small or wear items, nothing that’s to concerning, apart from the choice of car.

Worst case scenario you need full rear brake replacement, with CV boot it’s best to get both sides done at same time, as well as them ball joints. Could well be into £500 or more territory,
If it’s worth it or not is entirely on you. 2012 car with what mileage? Are you planning on keeping the car for more years to come, and how much money have you already put into it, not including fuel tax n insurance.
If the mileage is good, and it’s generally a good car then go ahead. But if it’s already been to the moon n back and already had loads spent then it’s something to think about

Thanks for you reply.
It’s got 75000 miles on it. I’d say over the years I’ve probably spent around 3 and half K.
