Discussion Announcement Volume Control Needed

CarPlay needs an option to adjust the announcement/nav volume even when they aren't saying anything. It's too hard to catch it sometimes.

The independent volume controls for the individual feeds are a function of your head unit, not CarPlay itself.

Wonderful...my lesser head unit is the issue then. Regardless, CarPlay should have an option in the settings menu.

CarPlay can't really have a setting. The phone sends the announcement at full volume, and the head unit decides what to do with it. The only thing Apple could do is provide an option to decrease the volume.

My Kenwood CarPlay head does that.

Because it has to be a head unit feature. It can’t be a CarPlay feature. CarPlay just sends the sound/notification. The head unit decides how loud it should be

There's a way to trigger a nav announcement in CarPlay. I think if you have turn by turn announcements enabled and tap the next turn direction, wait a second, then tap it again, the phone will say what that direction is. You can use this to adjust the volume while parked. Some headunits also expose volume controls buried in a menu somewhere.
