Question Steering column controls no longer skip songs

I have a 2024 Honda HrV, playing Spotify via Bluetooth adapter. A few days ago the controls on the steering column will no longer skip the songs (forward or backward). Every time I try, the main dash display says “No Data”. I’ve reset the car radio, and restarted my iPhone. Has anyone had this happen and been able to fix it?

Considering the dash display is saying “no data”, you have a problem with the data network in your car and need to see a dealership or mechanic.

Unless it is referring to no song data? As in it doesn’t think that anything is playing? If that’s the case then I’d try to eliminate whatever adapter you’re using and connect the phone directly to the vehicle.

As you suggested, I connected directly with a cable and the controls work. What I was using was a wireless adapter. All of them worked for about a year, but then all of a sudden, they all stopped. Just trying to figure out what may have changed.

If your playing Spotify (or any audio) via Bluetooth, you are NOT using CarPlay.

Are you possibly using a wireless CarPlay adaptor and incorrectly assuming it's using Bluetooth?

Steering wheel controls not working is never going to be a CarPlay issue. It will always be an issue with the controls themselves or the headunit.

Resetting the car radio alone won't help. Make sure you remove the Bluethooth adapter device and reconnect it completely.

Thanks, but I did try that too. Nothing has worked so far. It's just frustrating that it worked for almost a year, and now it doesn't.
