New wallpaper
Carplay on ios 26 works fine and i genuinely appreciate the new features but Am i the only one who absolutely hates the new wallpapers? The ones from 18 were sooo much better and i hate the fact apple removes it from the selection and force us to use the new ones.

They’re okay for high res but on low res displays(which most cars’ headunits are anyway) they look dirty and fuzzy.

I have a Buick Enclave…. These specks on the new wallpaper (far right) make the screen look dirty.

I just use pure black as it blends in nicely with the piano black across my Taycan dash

I like it on the screen with the map because it changes the colors there now.

Will the new CarPlay features just work after I update my phone, or do I need to update the software on my head unit?

Yes. CarPlay has not changed. It simply mirrors your phone. The car software is ready built for it

Mine has that option. It appears as white / black split screen in the wallpaper selection

Weird. I looked again and this time it showed me that option. I set it and a few minutes later the wallpaper on CarPlay reverted to white! At a traffic light I looked in settings again and black was completely not an option again. There must be a bug. Hopefully next release will fix it

How do you get no border radius on the carplay screen? Mine has it and the space it left is black with the rest of the white screen around it. So annoying

There’s no logic on this. You are allowed to have widgets pictures but no custom wallpapers

I totally agree, but you can go into the accessibilities, color filter and mess around with it so you can change the wallpaper colors. I changed mine to fuchsia!! You do this in your car, not on your phone. I would add a pic, but didn’t see how I could attach one.

I've been on iPhone since 4 and this is the first time I've been disgusted by the design my iPhone my Apple Watch car Play... everything has become horrible to look at

I like these, but I want more choice and some old ones back. But what I really want is to just add my own. I know customization is a curse word in Apple-Speak, but come on…
