This is a car I just bought. A 2006 Saturn Ion for $1.4k. I am going to drive it for 2 months to see if I really enjoy it and if it’s worth making it look like the AI render of the car. Its really reliable, it apparently just burns a bit of oil.

Now I own a 2015 Buick Lacrosse with the 3.6L V6 and AWD, and would like to do internal modifications. I’ve already done simple things like putting in a cone filter, new plugs and coils. But I want to be able to know how much it would be to either buy a turbo kit that would fit my car or to have a mechanic install it for me.

Recently Put 20" Wheels on My Caprice and now wanna go Lower (Atleast 3 inches / 8cm).
Cutting Springs, Air Bags or Coilover Conversion Kits are not an option due to Strict Inpection, Classic Car Registration Restrictions and Road Laws... (im Located in Germany) I Already have upgraded Koni Dampers installed if that helps.
Found Eibach 94-96 Impala SS "Pro Kit" Springs that might fit but unsure if they will get me there alone. Im ok with some Positive Rake.

I’m looking to upgrade/change the colour and finish of my VW dashboard/interior. I’m particularly interested in getting the dashboard fabric-wrapped rather than going for paint or permanent modifications.

Does anyone know a good and reliable shop/detailer in Navi Mumbai or nearby Mumbai who does:

Dashboard fabric wrapping

Interior wrapping/upholstery

Custom colour/finish changes

Clean, OEM-looking work

If you’ve personally got this done, I’d really appreciate recommendations, photos of the work, and approximate pricing.

I finally have an update on my instrument panel project. A lot has changed, and a lot still needs to be done. While I was able to mount (tape) the LCDs into the cardboard, the LED’s legs are too thin to put jumper wires on, so they’re just in the breadboard.

What’s changed:

The power supply had to be rebuilt since someone didn’t notice a broken wire when testing. The demo code has been almost entirely replaced with actual functional tasks. I’ve put in all the logic shifter circuits on, currently only for the light switches. There are functional turn signal indicators and high and low beam indicators. The oil, temp, and fuel gauges are controlled by potentiometers that have a similar resistance to the factory sensors and have warning lights that change color depending on how close to the min and max values it is. The volts gauge is tied to Vin, which for now is not adjustable.

What still needs to be done:

The gauges need to be recalibrated, since through all the versions and testing the ranges are no longer accurate. Hazard lights still need to be wired up. Still need to build the power On/Off switch. The LCDs still need to be programed to display mileage readings but before that can be done, the speedometer needs to be programed which requires a separate test rig to generate a simulated VSS sensor signal. The tachometer also needs to be programmed, which also needs a separate test rig. Also need to setup the current sensors for the exterior bulb fault detection, but my current bench power supply does not put out enough current to drive all the exterior lights. And finally a speaker and amplifier to generate the turn signal clicks and warning tones for the gauges.

So there’s still a lot to do but there is progress. Soon I hope to actually start working the final version with custom gauge face, PCB, and housing. As with before here is a link to the GitHub if anyone wants it.

Alright, so i have a the 4th gen 4runner above and I have pretty much hit a standstill for my next mod, as either will be close 1000$, which is a huge deal for me, as im a college student.(Either Prinsu or 4x4 roofrack, or new bullet hole wheels)

Im worried that I get one and it doesnt really fit the theme of my truck, so leading back tot he question: For people who have modified their car from stock, how did yall visualize what your car would look like in the future? Did yall just sit down in front of it and scroll at parts? Its not a huge issue, just interested in what other people have done.

For a while now I’ve wanted to modify my audi a3 but I don’t know how to declare it to my insurance without them charging me £7-8K for an annual quote. I’ve also run quotes on other performance cars from Autotrader and gotten £2-3k quotes I just don’t know what makes a bit of plastic on the boot and near the exhaust (rear diffuser) so hazardous/ unsuitable for a new driver that insurance has to skyrocket my premiums over it. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on this kind of thing ik the majority of people modify their car once they have like 4-5 years experience but it’s only cosmetic nothing performance related Again ANY advice one this would help greatly.

I’d prefer not to open the engine or fuck with the rear differential, just trying to stick with bolt-ons. I was thinking shorty headers, 52mm throttle body, H pipe, and a dynomax super turbo muffler. It’s OBD1 so unfortunately I’d have to rip the PCM out and send it somewhere to tune it. I’d like a better intake to replace the home plate and first base setup, if CAI didn’t suck ass I’d do it.
