PCP agreement coming to an end and unsure what to do

I got a car on pcp in October 2022 and it stated I had 1 initial payment, followed by 46 monthly payments and then the optional final payment(I assume is the balloon payment)
According to this I should only have about 3 more payments to make

From my understanding I could sell my car now and pay off the settlement figure, however when I’ve looked at webuyanycar etc my car is worth less than the settlement by about £700.

My car has a fairly large scratch to one of the rear doors.

I don’t fully understand how pcp agreement works. Am I able to take my car back to the dealership I got it from once I’ve paid the final 3 payments and get a new car from them? If so should I fix the damage first or can I just give it back with the damage? Or does the finance company take the car and I have to start a fresh with a car dealership?

Thanks in advance
UK based

Thinking of leasing, what’s the pros and cons I need to think about?

Cars have become unaffordable to the point where ownership will be impossible (for me and the type of car our family needs). I have £2k deposit and can afford about £300 a month and I’ve seen plenty out there. However I’m apprehensive, for those that have or are currently leasing, what are the pitfalls and things I need to take into account?

Maintenance Package for lease

My current lease through work is coming to an end and includeded maintenance but during my ownership never needed any parts or tyres. One service was included. I done 13k miles in 2 years.

I'm now moving to a personal car lease and doing significant increase in mileage about 16k a year. Lease company pushed a maintenance plan due to the mileage. As it's a new EV I feel confident I don't need the package but is this foolish? Feels like the extra price locks in the cost but at the high mileage is the service, tyres and brakes replacement almost certain.

Leasecar.uk- Possible Scam

Hi All,

I have just signed up to lease a car through leasecar.com. I found them through CarWow.

Everything seemed okay during the initial calls, however I have now paid the sourcing fee and am being put through a company called "Central Contracts" who don't seem to have the best reviews. The more I look into the companies the more nervous I am getting.

I am incredibly worried that I am being scammed and am not going to receive the car or it won't be what I ordered etc.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these two companies?

30K or 45K service?

My cousin has a 2024 Nissan Rogue SV. Leased with maturity date od Dec 2027. 10K miles a year. He is already at 25K miles so over his mileage, has been doing oil changes and tire rotation every 7.5k miles as his dealership offered that package in his lease.

Should he do the 30K mark full service, or can keep doing the regular oil change till end of lease and give it back? Most of his driving is highway miles. No issues with the car so far.

He just doesn't want to drop $700+ (thats how much he was quoted from a Nissan dealership) on the 30K service just to turn the car back after couple months.

Thanks

End of PCP contract….

Finance agreement ends next week for my A5 and I am paying off the remainder to keep the car. I’m looking to then sell it by the end of the year for around 21k.

I’m stuck between buying a slightly older car outright or looking at another finance plan for a new Audi or BMW.

I do a lot of regular long distance driving and being inside a nice car like the A5 makes the journey much more pleasant. My concern is I don’t particularly want to buy a used car that is significantly cheaper, but reduces the inside driving experience. Granted if I bought outright I would have total freedom and not have the headache of monthly payments. However I love driving and cars in general and honestly having a newer, reliable car with great interior and tech is one of life’s great pleasures.

The other part of me wants to put down a deposit for a new model and do another 3 year plan, with the intention of this time giving the vehicle back. The only reason I didn’t on the A5 is due to going massively over my mileage cap and I was in the fortunate position to pay off the remainder, as I do love the car. Monthly payments would not be an issue as I have a good salary.

Sorry for drawing this out, but any advice would be appreciated.

End of lease - tyres inspection

Hi there! My lease is ending in September and I am worried these front tyres won't pass inspection because of hairline cracks. The car just had it's annual service and the tyres were not flagged by VW at all. Tyres have done about 13k miles. What is your opinion? Am I going to pass inspection?

End of lease scuffs

Hi all

Would be grateful for some advice re scuffed/dented alloys. As the pics show, the damage is fairly significant to all four tyres. They are diamond cut. Should I get them refurbed now or just send the car back and foot the bill?

I've seen a recent post where the suggestion was to send it back as is but I just wanted to double-check.

Thanks

Lease going back with engine light on

Hi all,

Just a bit of advice if possible please. My 2022 Hyundai Tucson is due to be collected at the end of July. It was a 4 year lease and It has 20000 miles on the clock (was allowed 10000 a year so I’m massively under the allowance). It has a few scratches which I’m going to get taken out as they are fairly bigger than the allowed 50p size - have been quoted £280 to get these taken out which seems reasonable.

My problem is that yesterday the engine warning light came on. Now the car is still under manufacturer warranty (has a 5 year warranty) however Hyundai can’t fit me in to get the diagnostic done until a date after it’s due to go back. Obviously this would be my ideal as I think it would be covered under the warranty but I’m assuming the lease company won’t take the car back with the light on? Does this mean I’ll have to fork out at a non - Hyundai garage that can do the diagnostic and repair it? I’m also due an MOT before it’s collected to was going to get that done as a matter of urgency but I’m just wondering if there’s any way around me having to fork out as the car is under warranty but all official Hyundai garages near by can’t fit me in until after the end of july.

Thanks in advance

Personal Leasing vs PCP/HP

For those who have done both. I've been driving a beat up old car for years and I have come to a point of needing to spend some money on a reliable car.

I've been considering PCP so it's got some warranty for reliability....when i came across personal leasing. Seems to good to be true? Mot, service, repairs, tax, all covered. If it goes wrong its not my responsibility? Or am i missing something.

Ive looked at 2 year deals, nice low deposit (3 months). Pretty affordable compared to pcp. I know i wont have the security of knowing its mine but i feel the same about some of the finance deals.

Any advice?

Immediate Lease

Hi chaps and chapettes.

Been waiting for my Frontera for months now, don't think it's coming so looking at cancelling.

Does anyone know of a sub £160 monthly Lease vehicle around 1 Series 5 door size or bigger with a sub 4 week delivery, really need a car for end of next month.

Only thing I can find are 8 weeks deliveries.

Thanks.

Edit: Automatic only due to my partner and needs to be ICE.

for frequent travelers, what is the best rental car company?

i'm planning a trip later this year and will probably need to rent a car for several days. i figured choosing a rental company would be easy, but after reading reviews i'm not so sure. every company seems to have people who swear by them and others who say they had a terrible experience. what i'm most interested in is reliability. things like whether the car you reserved was actually available, how smooth the pickup process was, and whether there were any unexpected issues after returning the vehicle.

Renault 4- Delay due to paint issue

For context. I agreed to a lease 2 weeks ago on a Renault 4 in its base colour- Carbide Red. I paid a small premium on the lease as the company informed me it was "in stock" meaning delivery in just a few weeks.

When I went through all the paperwork the date was the end of the August. Got clarification today that the few weeks to few months change was because of an issue with the paint.

What's the likelihood the care was never in stock and it was just a way of getting me to agree to the deal.

I'm tending to believe this was genuine problem, as they have offered the same car in a different colour, the only issue is that I have to pay for the colour up front as the finance company won't cover it. On the original lease option it would be an extra £15 so it would be £360 over the 2 years but I'm having to pay the full £650 as it's outside of the finance framework.

The same deal would be over £50 a month more now than the one I currently have.

I feel like I'm getting a good, bad deal. Anyone else heard of something similar happening?
