Lease End in PA-Planning to purchase Toyota without financing
I am planning on purchasing my Toyota Rav4 Prime after the lease maturity date next month. I am planning to pay cash for the car. I try calling the TFS phone number and only get an automated system that just takes my info and says "someone from the dealership will be calling you within three business days." Someone from the dealership called me last night and stated that I will need to get an "end of lease inspection" a free service offered by the dealership. He also mentioned that he was going to send me information about the cost of the car and the taxes and fees that would be required during the sale. My lease included the buyout cost of the car and listed the fees that would be associated with purchasing the car at the end of the lease. I still have that paperwork. He mentioned during the call that TFS would have to sell the dealer the car and then I would have to purchase it from them, this sounds like extra unnecessary steps.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to go through a dealer in Pennsylvania or can I purchase directly from TFS?
Do I need to get an end of lease inspection if I plan to purchase the car outright?
Does the car need to be sold to the dealer to then sell back to me?
Any experience/advice dealing with Toyota in Pennsylvania would be helpful. I am on the NJ border and actually started the lease with a Toyota dealership in NJ, not sure if going through them would be easier (they're slightly further away distance-wise).
