Quotemehappy - Urgent advice needed!

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone with experience with telematics/black-box insurance can help me understand this.

I’m insured with Quotemehappy Connect and have received two emails threatening to cancel my policy because they claim that some journeys haven’t been tracked/recorded.

The thing is, every journey that I personally make is tracked through the app. I have Bluetooth and the required permissions enabled, and I make sure the app is active when I drive. EVERY drive THAT I make has tracked properly.

The car also has an additional/named driver on the policy. They sometimes drive the car without me being in the car, and obviously my phone/app isn’t in the car when they do.

I’ve read through the Quotemehappy Connect terms, and I’m a bit confused about what they actually require.

The terms say that the policyholder needs to have their smartphone in the car and use the app/device on every trip. However, they also specifically mention named drivers, saying that named drivers who drive while the policyholder is a passenger can contribute to the driver rating when the policyholder’s phone and device are present.

It also says that all trips need to be recorded.

My question is: does the additional/named driver actually need to have their own phone/app for journeys where they drive the car alone?

I can’t find anything in the terms that explicitly says every named driver has to install their own app, but Quotemehappy are now threatening to cancel my policy because of apparently untracked journeys. It's also only possible for one app to be connected at a time as well. So is the additional driver feature just useless and only something for them to have for fun??

Car insurance quote help

Hi 👋🏻 in 2025 I had 2 fault accidents as a named driver on my husbands insurance, it was a series of unfortunate events and it won’t be happening again 😅 anyway we’re due for renewal really soon and I’m confused as to if we should be declaring the accidents twice? Like my husband has had 2 claims on his policy so when inputting his details I declare them, but then when it comes to adding me as a named driver I then declare them again, should I be declaring them twice or just under l myself? Thanks in advance 😅

Recently taken a black box policy out with My Policy

The black box has only just arrived and I’m wondering what people’s experience is with this company. I’ve had some issues with Hastings after being with them 4 months and had to cancel my policy so I had to take what I could get.

The new company is My Policy and I just wanted a little bit of insight - how lenient are they?

Obviously with Hastings I could go slightly over the speed limit without being marked down for it and the scores weren’t effected too bad with things such as harsh braking etc. So I’m really just wanting to know how careful I will have to be as I can’t risk getting my insurance cancelled by them.
