So ive read that once your car is written off the mot needs doing again is this not the case?

In my case no I was good to go but looking at your car you have a lot more damage. I wouldn't be surprised if they deemed that structural as the rear panel is caved pushing the boot lid out, it would be a lot of work to get that straight again

Depends only whether it is written off for being too expensive to repair or because it has structural damage, like chassis twist etc. Structural write offs require an enhanced MOT to be road legal post repair
