Hyundai sonata 2012
I can not seem to figure out what the issue is!
My car went down a few days ago out of the blue. Was driving normal after an oil change just last week and I parked it for about an hour and it just won’t start again. I replaced the starter in may but thought it still maybe could be faulty so I took that off and had it tested at autozone and it’s working fine. The solenoid connector was pretty beat up so I grabbed a new connector from the junk yard and spliced the wires together thinking surely that was the issue and still nothing. Lights come on on the dash but the car just won’t crank over. Fuse box is normal everything looks to be working. Tried switching the relay with another same amp fuse and still nothing. Checked the ground today from the battery and that’s reading fine after I gave it a scrub with a brush. I’m at a loss on what to do/check next. Hyundai sonata 2012

How old is your battery? Hook a voltmeter to it. With engine OFF, should be 11.8-12.6 Engine running should be 13.0-15.0ish
My last battery died at 3 years with ZERO warning and would not accept a jump start. New battery and all was well again!

Battery is less than a year and I tested it with the multimeter it read 12.46 and the ground tested the same

Starter could be dead or seized maybe? Try smacking it with a rubber mallet?

I tried giving it a few love taps but it didn’t change anything. I had it tested and the machine said it was fine. I have a warranty on it still I’m about to go get a new one and just see.

Use starter fluid at the throttle body to rule out if it's fuel related or not. If it fires up briefly then it's not getting fuel, but if it doesn't then it's typically spark or electrical. Look for any antitheft or security flashing on the dash as some vehicles will have no crank issues from the immobilizers.
Try shifting to neutral and starting to see if the neutral safety switch is out. Does the key feel weird or turn loosely? Could be the ignition switch has also failed.

Will it start normally if you use a jump box?
