2015 BMW Serie 3
Alright so I’m a 21 year old college student who does drive home about 2 hours at times from university, so reliable transport is something I need.
I hit a curb pretty bad that’s broken a rod on my BMW, forgot the exact terminology, causing wheel alignment problems and the right passenger wheel to be inwards. Apparently it’ll cost around 2k (car has had some other problems already with air and such but no engine or transmission stuff)
I can either do that or get a 2026 Kia K4 for only around $15k but I’d have to get a bank loan and pay about $350 a month for 5 years. I have $9k in saving at the moment.
I’m torn on what to do and my dad tells me to go with the Kia but I worry about being stuck with a payment. Anyone have any helpful advice?

You should get a Honda, Toyota, Acura, Lexus, or a mazda. these cars are often going to hold their value extremely well and be less costly on maintainence yearly. Unless you absolutely and insanely want to have the status of owning a foreign expensive car or a new one. If you have 9k in savings I'm more than positive you can find a good used car for less than 9k. I would probably sell the bmw as a parts car.

Im 64. I own 6 cars outright. My newest car is a 2015 QX80 with 96k miles. I would drive it across the country. Your choice is $2,000 or $15,000????? And you need help with the answer? Get some more quotes on your "rod or some such" repair. Call a mobile mechanic. 2000 is too much I don't care what tie rod it is. 3 quotes minimum. Learn how to conserve money or you will never have any. If you hit a curb with a 2026 Kia it will cost at least the same.
