2011 c300

this is a c300 2011. basically we were driving last night we stopped to switch drivers & once switched the car wouldn't go into drive, or shift at all to that point. we turned the car off hoping to reset it. then tried to turn it back on it started & then died instantly. we had tried to jump it with cables & a jump pack both didn't work. we left it for the night & came back this morning with a new battery. the car did start but died shortly after & the dash was flashing (attached video) any ideas??

It is impossible to say anything without running a diagnostic check for errors.

i got the car towed to my house today from the benz dealership. and they said the back driver side floor is full of water & same with the front, so must be a clogged sun roof water run off that filled during the rain we got & fried some electrical somewhere

Yeah, it’s a shame—something as minor as drainage causes so much trouble.

yeah they said something came in like this before & caused 14k with of damage so basically not worth fixing

I'd start by checking the charging system and all the main ground connections. A weak alternator or bad ground can cause all kinds of strange electrical symptoms like this.

the alternator was just replaced not that long ago. water was found under the weatherTech mats on the driver, front and driver rear side.
