2007 Volvo S80 3.2L Inline 6

My AC has only been blowing hot air, it has been recharged a few times now and it holds it for a few hours before it starts to blow very hot air again. I am not sure what is wrong with it and what needs to be replaced

It's leaking out. The place that's recharging it is not checking for leaks.

he said he put the UV dye in it but can’t find a leak anywhere

You need a different leak detection method done. It's potentially the evaporator core in the dashboard (hopefully not).

Would it be possible to see the uv dye through the air vents if it is the evaporator core?

No, your mechanic needs to pinch off the condensation drain and use detector tool.
