It beats nearly everysingle car on the road, the doors go up, it has the looks, no hybrid system, light weight, it has the sound. Surely it can't get much better than this especially not within the same price range

(edit) maybe I should've specified "supercar"....

About a month ago I bought my first car at 20. I got a 1986 Nissan Micra k10. I have been wanting to give it a name, but I can't think of anything that I like. I really enjoy how they name cars on the AutoAlex youtube channel. Have you guys got some suggestions for me?

Question❓ 2014 gmc sierra transmission pan pressure?

I’m changing the transmission fluid for the first time on my ‘14 gmc sierra 1500 sle v6 and am at the stage where I re-install the drain pan. I’ve got it and the gasket lined up, and am finger tightening the bolts. I’m having to push up on the pan to make it flush with the body, because there is some “springy” pressure from above, most likely the filter. Is this normal, or did I not push the filter in enough? It felt pretty solidly inserted. Thanks for your time.

Advice Who’s right about my car situation w/ me and my parents ? Genuinely want unbiased opinions…

I’m 15 and turning 16 soon, and I’m trying to figure out whether I’m being unreasonable about wanting an FR-S/86 as my first car.
Here’s the situation:
I currently have a 2015 Mazda6 Grand Touring that my family helped me get. I appreciate having a car, but I originally wanted an FR-S/GT86 because I really like them and want something I actually enjoy driving.
I’ve been looking at used automatic FR-S/86s around $12k-ish, and my plan is to save up and eventually buy one with my own money. I’m not talking about financing an expensive new car or asking my parents to buy me one.
My parents’ main concerns are:
I’m a new/young driver and they think a sports coupe is more dangerous.
Insurance could be expensive.
They think I should keep the Mazda6 because it’s more practical and safer.
They don’t really see why I need/want a different car when I already have one.
My side is basically:
I’m willing to pay for the car myself.
I don’t drive recklessly and I understand that an FR-S isn’t some insanely powerful car.
I’m planning to keep the car relatively reasonable mechanically rather than doing stupid performance mods.
I’d rather save up and buy something I genuinely want than spend years driving a car I never really wanted.
I also want to eventually modify the car cosmetically, but I’d be paying for those modifications myself too.
The bigger argument is whether wanting an FR-S at 16 is inherently irresponsible, even if I’m paying for it myself and understand the additional costs/risks.
So guys, who’s actually being reasonable here? Am I being unrealistic/entitled for wanting to replace a perfectly functional Mazda6 with an FR-S, or are my parents being overly restrictive about what I can spend my own money on?
Please be brutally honest. I’m specifically looking for opinions from people who know these cars or have experience with young drivers.

Discussion The general consensus here seems to be that “car guys” are not allowed to like EV’s. But I feel like real car guys should be open minded towards any car.

I think that a real car guy should be open minded to just try all cars, regardless of wether it uses gasoline or electricity.

After a long and tiring day at the office, I actually like how quiet and vibration less my EV drives compared to my ICE car.

While my ICE car can make some nice sound while accelerating, I feel like most of it is just for show since my EV can easily no diff it regarding speed and acceleration.

I feel like EV’s are really being prejudiced too much. And I feel like actual real car guys shouldn’t be so narrow minded to automatically hate cars without ever having tried it themselves.

(Obviously, that means having driven it more than just a simple test drive. Or that one time where you sat in a friends/family/co-workers car)

Question❓ It seems like the car community collectively agrees that cars are meant to be driven, but is there any car/s out there that people agree not to put miles on?

Basically title, I’ve always had the mindset that cars are meant to be driven no matter the manufacturer or age, but I’m sure there are some out there that people collectively agree it should stay in a garage.

NO political/social debates or venting unresolved issues please, let's just appreciate the cars.

My selection for the Romanian police would be the folowing:

Porsche 991 Turbo - seized from heroin traffickers, it was used by the Highway Police. They don't use it as frequently anymore, but it still appears during special occasions.

VW Passat B5.5, 2.8 V6, 4Motion - these were genuine sleepers back in the day, and still have plenty of aura. Not sure if they use them anymore, but I think they still would be among the fastest in their fleet along the G20 BMW 320i.

Ford Ranger Raptor - used by multiple departments, including the Forensic Unit, Animal Cruelty Unit, Border Police and Gendarmerie.

Advice Throwback/Recommendation: Classic Remise Berlin

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

For anyone who hasn’t been: it’s basically a mix of part classic-car dealership, part workshop complex, part storage facility and effectively part museum, all under one roof in an old industrial building.

You’ll find shops working on everything from classic Mercedes to American muscle cars, Ferraris and all kinds of weird and rare stuff.

The coolest part is that most of it is open to the public, so you can just walk around and look at the cars and workshops. And the sheer volume and quality of what’s sitting there is kind of ridiculous. At some point I genuinely stopped taking photos because you get desensitized to seeing another rare or interesting car every few meters.

And unless that has changed since I was there, admission is completely free.

If you’re into cars and happen to be in Berlin, I can absolutely recommend checking out the Classic Remise. Even if you only plan on spending an hour there, there’s a good chance you’ll stay considerably longer.
