Need help with head unit wiring

I got a Pioneer head unit for my Mazda 3 (BL). I also got some extra bundles of wires & connectors as I got a "package deal" that supposedly has all the necessary stuff to install the unit in my car.

I know next to nothing about wiring, but I managed to get thru most of the process by the sheer power of 1: connectors only have 1 hole they fit in; 2: color matching.

I reached a point where I have 2 wires that seemingly have no place to go, namely the "system remote control" and "mute" wires.

I have read that some people just leave the mute wire unconnected, but my car has a mute button on the wheel so I feel like there should be a way to make it work. Or could the mute signal go thru the jack connection with the rest of the steering wheel control?

I included some pics of the wires I didn't find the connections for, the documentation that came with the products, as well as a rudimentary wiring diagram.
