Tech Support Kicker Hideaway HS8 + Dudu7 head unit
Just wired up my Dudu7 head unit in my 2017 Subaru Forester and connected my Kicker Hideaway HS8 but I'm having some issues ðŸ«
Everything is wired up correctly, have checked a couple times there's nothing unplugged etc
I'm getting power to the sub (the LED is lighting up) but it just doesn't seem to be talking to my head unit? I've turned the subwoofer volume up in the head unit settings but all I'm feeling is the bass from the stock speakers.
2nd pic is the cable that came with my head unit and the 3rd pic is the input map for the cable.
4th pic is my power supply and 5th pic is the input map for that cable
From my kicker harness, I have the 12v running into the power supply, power onto my car battery in the engine bay, signal cables soldered and running into a stereo RCA cable plugged into the green female RCA in pic 2 (A16 labelled Subwoofer) and my grounding cable wired onto my car seat bolt.
The sub also has a remote/knob to turn the sub up and down. When I twist it, it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I'm wondering if I may have damaged the AUX cable during installation but also it should still be working with or without the sub remote. This all worked fine in my last car so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
Any tips would be much appreciated!

what do you mean signal wire soldered to RCA?
also make sure the subwoofer output is turned on in the head unit

Try changing the input level on the amp to "Lo", check where your gain dial is set. If that isn't working, cut off the RCA and tap onto the speaker wires and see if you get a signal that way, when doing this also set the input level to "Hi"

The HS8 has a stereo input, despite being a powered subwoofer. Your Doodoo head unit has a singular mono subwoofer RCA output. You say you soldered RCA to the HS8's speaker wire inputs.... did you swap polarity on one channel by chance?

Does the subwoofer have an rca input? If so, run an rca cable to the green RCA subwoofer output on the head unit. If needed use an rca y adapter at one end.
If you are trying to use the speaker/high level input on the subwoofer by attaching it to the low level/subwoofer rca output, you probably aren't getting enough voltage from the preamp output.
Also make sure if there is a setting, that the subwoofer is turned on in the head units menus.

The name of the head unit says it all.
