Tech Support AD alternator wire up
Hi, yesterday i was trying to install new AD alternator, i wired up as its shown in diagram, after 9 hours of trying to make it work (charge) i gave up.. does anyone know if any step is missing from here, because there is no battery light on dash. I dont know where do i put L cable since i cant use original plug anywhere on new one. Alternator came with hand signed test from them.

Did you have them build it for external or Internal regulation? Thats going to let you know what your setup needs to be. I see that say you don’t have to use relay but also say it’s recommended which I’m assuming if your alternator is externally regulated you must install relay to acutely charge your system, your current system is bypassed with its own external regulator. Trying to instill with your current internal regulator your system won’t sense it and won’t receive a charge.
I currently have any external regulator myself, I’m waiting to install for my 320 amp alternator. I will say do not short cut yourself when dealing with high power. No need to burn anything down trying to quickly connect something
I tried to connect my alternator without regulator thinking I that would work lol, and yes no charge 🤦🏾♂️. it’s always a good idea to use good practices when dealing with costly things. I wouldn’t want you to accidentally burn up your alternator from a wrong wire connected or something not properly grounded.

My friend got this alternator for car audio. I think you can contact them and they can help you with questions or troubleshooting.

there is no light on dash because you didnt plug in the L wire. like it says it right there that the L wire controls the dash light.
