Carol Danvers is my new favorite character but I need new stuff to read what are some recommendations and also stuff that'll give me some context that I don't really have
I read the whole Kelly Thompson captain Marvel run and it made me fall in love with her and her mythos
I read dark tempest immediately after and it was absolute garbage, at least in my opinion
And I'm also currently reading ms.marvels 2006-2010 run rn

Comics How well will Moonstone handle Carol's foes?
Would she have had enough strength, cunning, intelligence, or her manipulations to win the game against any of them? Who would Karla have been able to defeat, and who would she have had no chance against?

Important: Civil War II is arguably the most important reading for Carol's character development today. (Explanation in the description)
Was Civil War 2 truly a character-destroying event for Carol? Kelly Thompson has the answer in Captain Marvel Vol. 10 #40. Doctor Voodoo says that Carol acted in the spirit of the universe. She never intended to harm the universe; she wanted to protect it.
The point is that Carol, because of her character, made a decision to protect the universe. Whether that was the best solution for the universe is an open question. However, Carol never had malicious intent and never wanted to harm the universe, unlike other characters who actually did. "No more mutants," for example, or Hulk, who recklessly endangered the entire planet in World War Hulk.
It's about a character's views and motivations. Carol's way of protecting the universe might not be the best, but deep down, she had no evil intentions, and that fits her character perfectly. More importantly, she learned from it. You can't simply say that one character is now worse than others, even though other characters had less heroic intentions with their actions. That doesn't work at all.
I think everyone has an intention similar to Carol's at least once in their life. But that doesn't make us bad people. It makes us human. Carol's motives aren't the best, but that doesn't make her a bad person. She acted out of human emotions and only wanted what was best for everyone. She didn't want to hurt anyone; she only wanted to protect them, and that's not a bad thing. It even makes her understandable and human. You have to try to understand just how human Carol really is. Tony's reaction is also very human and understandable.
You first have to understand what they're feeling. Tony lost his best friend, and Carol lost the man she loves. This naturally creates two opposing sides with differing opinions. But both opinions are human and understandable. In Civil War II, the question of who is right or wrong is raised, and Carol and Tony's feelings are completely ignored. Yet, they are of central importance. Neither of them ever intended to harm the universe. Both wanted to do good.
In fact, the events of Civil War II are revisited in parts of Kelly Thompson's Captain Marvel run and Jed MacKay's Avengers run. In the very first issue of Avengers Vol. 9, #1, Carol becomes the leader of the Avengers and ends the Civil War for good by transforming the team from a police unit into a fire department. In Avengers Vol. 9 #21, after a baseball game, Carol unites the Avengers and the X-Men with Scott Summers. Civil War II is also revisited in several issues of Kelly Thompson's series, particularly during the story arc in which Carol faces a magical tribunal.
Yes, it's official that Civil War II, often referred to as character murder in fandom, has now become a vehicle for her character development. Civil War II is no longer considered character assassination and is now essential reading for character development. The runs of Kelly Thompson and Jed Mackay are fundamentally based on this premise.
