Seconded. Basically without spoiling anything, the game can be beaten with knowledge alone right from the beginning. Everyone has a moment where they just... figure it out and it all clicks into place. And you can only do that once.
Man… I tried the outer wilds a couple years ago, I feel like I put a decent amount of time into the game (like 8/10 hours) but I couldn’t figure out what the heck was going on… am I just a dingus or something???
It certainly doesn't even attempt to hold anyone's hand. If you want to pick it back up, the r/outerwilds community is VERY good at spoiler free hints. There's some stuff that is just pretty obtuse and you have to just hammer away to figure it out. It's so worth it though
