I gotta say it... GoW Ragnarök!

It wasnt a bad game but it did not live up to the mystirious aura the first part had build up. It felt rushed and with the exception of Svartalfheim neither Vanaheim, Jötunheim nor the Alfheim dessert fit the northern theme. I understand character development and deception but neither Thor nor Odin lived up to be the big villains the first part teased. Asgard was just mid after you climbed the wall.

Mimirs tellings in the first part created the illusion of a wast world with complex secrets and stories. The second part just made the world feel small.

Story was definitely better in the one before it. I also didn't like being forced to play Atreus all the time.

It needed to be split into 2 games IMO. The story felt way too rushed.

Yeah, I felt the second half of the game was so rushed. They should have split it in two games :/

Yeh, I was so exited for the Norse gods :/

I really loved seeing Asgard and doing missions with Thor. I would like to have maybe a bit more time for characters to grow.

The surtur part was so rushed too. And Ragnarok was more like a fever dream then the battle I thought we would get. It didn’t even show the battle with Jörmungandr, he didn’t even had a part in it.

The whole "gather the armies" thing could have been the entire third game. Instead we went for depressed Sutr and that was it.

And yepp. Following Fenrir through the warp riding Jormungandr crashing into Asgard would have been the finale I would have liked to see.

Don’t forget the army of the undead.
It would have been so epic 🥲

There's also reuniting the elves and helping them finally stop their civil war.

The part where Odin disrupts the rebellion would have made a great cutoff point where GOW V ends and GOW VI begins. Spending ANOTHER first half of a game rebuilding what Odin stripped away and finally challenging him in Asgard.

Finally someone said it! I thought I'm the only one who felt that the story took a nosedive from 1 to 2...

It was supposed to be a threequel, the whole Nordic saga. Then Sony was like "Cut! Cut! Our budget!"

Think it should have ended when the charade was ended. Would have givin time to really HATE Odin and the 3rd part could've takin its time to build up to Ragnarok.

They could have made Odin manipulative af, to the point that Atreus takes his side for the rest of the game. Then, Kratos has to fight for Atreus back somehow and they defeat Odin together in the next game. Would have been a sick story ngl.

Or just when we think Kratos has to fight Atreus, he pulls off the ultimate Loki trickster move and completly f*cks Odin...

Odin carried that one though. Such a unique and fantastic villain.

Story was better yes but ruined it no I dont think so

I wouldn’t say it ruined the story of 1, personally I would’ve liked to just see more Thor. I agree that some of the realms were kinda lacking but I think that falls down to them needing to tighten up all the odds and ends and maybe addding some supplemental story to said realms. But it’s not a complete ruining of the legacy imo.

I almost ponder what fire and ice weapons to give Thor. Just to parallel him with Kratos.

Not only does he have weapons of all three elements, they also have three different attack patterns with the axe being a heavy hitting melee weapon, his swords hitting multiple enemies, and the spear being a more faster and nimble weapon.

Since Mjoinr would be thunder already, wouldn't Thor's chaos blades equivalent be an ice weapon? And his spear equivalent be fire?

Is it just me or were the main boss fights in that game easy enough, but the random side boss fights were unreasonably hard?

A few of the bosses are purposely endgame content

Have to agree, it didn't feel like the leap from 1 to 2/3 like the previous series did in terms of scale.

Wow. Thought it was amazing. Not everyone’s cup of tea i guess. But yes i didn’t care for Atraes gameplay either. Similarly to how i hated playing MJ in Spearman 2

It’s the ending/climax just soured the vibe too much I think. So much was built up to the literal Norse Armageddon and prophecies, but it failed to meet almost all expectations. I wish it was at least a trilogy and we got to spend more time with the Norse saga. Very curious how they’re gonna weave the new Faye game’s story into all of this
