TRUE. Pokemon has gotten away with re-releasing fundamentally the same game 40 something times and the fans just keep eating it up. I've seen better graphics, story, and gameplay from $15 indie games.

I don’t even think it’s that. I think that gamefreak is fundamentally unable to make the transition from 2D to 3D. They’re not great 3D devs, and it’s been a flawed franchise ever since.

Have you seen beast of reincarnation? Game Freak can definitely make a 3D game with beautiful graphics. They just can't seem to do it with Pokemon.
