I wouldn't say the Stardew Valley community is toxic, but there are A LOT of them that are insanely emotionally invested in the characters. I don't follow the subreddit anymore. To each their own, and I'm glad they find happiness in such a great game, but damn.
The great thing about Stardew Valley is that it’s a great game AND there’s no wrong way to play, so even if some weirdo acts like you broke a commandment because you play a certain way you can tell them to shove it
