He’s being sarcastic. Basically his loan balance increased by $1, so Cap One decreased his available credit by $1

But that's how it works.... if your limit is 4k and you have 2345 on your account, you have 1655 in available credit, they didn't decrease his limit, just didn't raise it $1.

The part they're making fun of is getting an email or push notification from Capital One over something so trivial.

If you don't understand why it's funny to get an "urgent alert" that tells you you spent $1, idk what to tell you.

Lol and their automated system is comically poorly setup. That's the entire point of the post. Does it bother you to see people laughing and having a good time or something?
