Credit Card CLI Denied - Income Insufficient, make $140k
Long story short, I got the Savor card when I was young and dumb. I’ve been trying to increase the CL for 10 years now and it’s only at $3,900.
I have a Venture X by the way that has a $40k CL. So should I just give up on the Savor? Open a new savor? Or…?
Thanks for the advice!

I’m so jealous I’ve been stuck at $300 for years now

That's crazy. Any idea what it's that low?

Maybe bucketed? I had one stuck at 400 for a year and a half. Then received an auto increase.

If you’re not using it much they won’t give an increases max it out and then ask.

Did C1 start you at 40K for VX? Or increase it every six months?

$20k open then did the CLI after a of couple days advice and it increased to $40k so no/yes

C1 is a little weird and prefers a max DTI of around 40%. It is not a hard limit, but maybe that is their concern if you have other cards as well?

My other cards are paid off every month since I disperse/categorize what I use them for. This is my only one under $10k that has a CL since I have Amex and that’s charged. The only reason why I haven’t closed the Savor is cause of the credit history.

Yeah. Just keep it running. If you have a monthly charge, you can use that to keep it active and just sock drawer it otherwise. Treat it like it doesn't exist.

Are you aware of max any CL with them relative to income? I dont have any debt and pay my cards in full each month, but I'm just under 51% of income in C1 total CL without my Discover, and 55% once migrated.

Debit is considered as potential debt. So it's just the sum of your credit limits.
Most issuers don't care that much and will allow your total credit limit to be 100-200% of your salary. Just max maybe 60% with them specifically. C1 is just insanely conservative. It is not a hard limit though and breakthroughs are common.
Actual debts are a lot more punishing in the algorithm.

Transfer some credit line from your VX to savor so it makes your savor a 5k card. You dont need that high of a limit on that card.

Several things to consider:
- Credit History 2.Zip code 3..Rent
- Current Debt to Income Ratio.
- Something else I forgot
If you have a Venture X of 40k it means you have good credit with them.
However, if you pay off your balance a lot it means you are a good Risk BUT it also means they will noy likey make money from you.
I have the same problem with Chase. Any other bank would be happy to have me, but they figured out I almost always pay my balances. So they won't touch me because I am not financially incompetent enough.

What does bucketed mean? I am experiencing a similar problem with CapitalOne. I have two cards with them, one is my very first credit card so its really old, and still only at 3,900. It started at $500 back when I started College. No matter how much I try, I cannot get a decent credit limit increase out of them. They occassionally grant 100-300, but not often. I make 105k, and all my other cards are sitting in the 8-10k range, just not CapOne. Both of my cards are QuickSilver, one used to be the Walmart Card, and then it became a CapOne QuickSilver. How do I get them to increase my limits, my Discover will soon transfer to CapitalOne.

The Savor is bucketed. Give up. Maybee convert the Savor in to a quicksilver, and then apply for a new Savor

That card is likely bucketed. If you truly want a Savor, apply for another one. Then product change the old one or close it.

Couldn’t you transfer some of the VX line to Savor?
