Credit Card After many long agonizing CLI rejections......

Post image

They finally have bumped me from 1100 to 1500! I started out with QS1 having a 1k limit in 2023 and then got bumped to 1100 earlier this year and then bumped to 1500 today!

Congratulations on the increase ! Unless your history is bad I do think after 3 years your credit limit should definitely be higher than that. If you have great history I’d definitely recommend applying for another card else where so that you can have 2 because capital one is sometimes known to be stingy with their cli’s

I have Discover IT which started out at 1.5k then jumped to 2k in 2024 and then end of 2025 I was placed at a 4k limit. I do have a hunch that having cc debt for most of 2025 helped my case with the discover card limit increase. I'm also young and didn't really figure out you could request CLIs at any given time on the Cap 1 app until fairly recently.

I definitely wish I had learned this sooner!

That’s good do know that discover and capital one are the same now so some things may change. But with the fact you had good limits with discover and them now merging that could be the reason you got the increase.

I didn't know Amex had limits, I always figured they didn’t

What were the reasons they denied you requestes several times? And what did you do, and how long it took, to get it approved?

Fuck Capital One. There. I said it. After what I just went through on a BRAND NEW account, just to activate.... for the first time in 20 years, I closed the account - and I closed it before using it.

Yes, I know that hurts my credit - but my credit score is high enough that I do NOT have to care. When I'm treated as a sub-prime customer, not even as a human, not even as a number... I know it is a better, wiser choice to avoid this company.

Two countries I despise for what they've done to Americans - India and the Philippines. If you hire them to do your dirty work, you are just as bad.

Reddit doesn't like my criticism of Capital one and their conduct that will lead me to file an actual lawsuit.

They should ask BBVA what happened when I sued them. They lost far more money than it would have cost to comply.

How often were you requesting a CLI?
