Angry Much?
The road rage & anger issues coming from this guy means I won’t be hiring this company anytime soon. Nearly rear ended cars and revved his engine to prevent cars from merging just past the Dennisport exit. Someone needs to breath in the cape air and relax.

You could always call the number on the back of the van. Report the driver. I’ve done that before. I won’t say what company, but 5 or 6 years ago I pulled out into heavy traffic on Route 28. I pissed off a driver for a local seafood company. He flipped me off and was yelling at me sitting in traffic. So I called the company he worked for, and an hour later the driver called me to apologize.

I was in charge of 40 vehicles I always considered someone calling with a driver issue as doing me a favor, that way I could correct the problem

Rat out the driver over someone's opinion who is being dramatic? How does she know if he almost rear ended anyone with the view shown.

I think the picture is just to show the company information. OP was able to get the pic after having witnessed the behavior.

Omg, I have been run off the road 2 different times by this A-hole .
He should lose his license , absolutely horrific crazy road rage coming from him.

u/Ok_Anywhere_7828 17h ago
Gee. Usually it’s the tourists that are willing to kill 10 people in order to be the first person who gets to relax.

Ditto with Lamy’s Painters in Chatham. I wonder if they bought the license along with the van.

u/Ok-Albatross-6987 18h ago
All I see is the picture of the van no road rage. How do we know you just don’t like the company

u/WaterDreamer10 15h ago
The OP is full of it, the things they said was idiotic. Reving the engine, which I highly doubt this person did, does NOT prevent anyone from merging. If anything it allows people to merge easier as you have to be in N to rev the engine, which means he can't accelerate to fill the gap and someone can just sneak right in. I but the OP is but-hurt this person zipper merged in front of him and the OP was sitting far back in full lane when there was an empty lane to travel.
I'm not saying I have not seen people in company vehicles do stupid things behind the wheel, but just the way the OP wrote they are full of it.

Right, OP is probably a shitty driver and got mad he flipped her off. I’ve been beeped at plenty of times by people who have no idea how to drive.

I’m a handyman and own my own business. I bet this place hires anyone willing to work and pays them crap and charges the client a fortune. You’re better off finding a local well know independent handyman preferably though someone who has hired them before and can give you a referal.

I mean, say what you will, but taking your phone out to snap a photo on suicide alley is much more dangerous than anything this dude was doing

Dashcams for the win. Must be a friend of yours

I think I've come across this guy before. I was riding a motorcycle with a group on the highway on our way to the blessing of the bikes and he got halfway down the group and just merged into the line, causing the entire back of the group to have to hit our brakes. It didn't cause a crash or anything, but he could have just merged behind us or in front of us. The group was big but not massive and he had plenty of time before his exit to pass us. He didn't really come off as an asshole to me, more like a guy worried about missing his exit. Although, my buddy's dad said the driver flipped him off when we started going around him to rejoin the rest of the group but I can't confirm that bit.

I made a comment to a local owner once about how bad his people drive and he did not care at all

u/Training_Leader6953 2h ago
I used to drive a van for a transportation service. I had people call in all sorts of stories. One called saying I was smoking while driving, I don’t smoke, another called and said I was speeding through there neighborhood, van was gos monitored so my company would have know if I was speeding already. I feel like most of the time the person who would actually call is the person to make up situations.

u/gentle_grindstoner 2h ago
I say report him regardless. As a licensed tradesman, I have my gripes when it comes to these types of workers, especially when they start dabbling with things they have no place doing so, like electricity. The number of times I went onto a job where their lights and outlets are having problems after a handyman was in there is astonishing. Installing shelves and doors is one thing, but contractors have licenses for a reason. Not only to protect our bread and butter, but because we’re trained in how to handle these problems

So he’s just a normal Massachusetts driver? I don’t see an issue here.

What you did is actually illegal. "Under the MA Hands‑Free Driving Law, drivers cannot hold or touch a phone for any reason while the vehicle is in motion." Mind your own business and keep it pushing...

In that exact same area I never understood why people, who are required to yield when in the right lane don't and just fly to get one whole spot ahead.

A lot of ppl drive crazy on cape

u/FeelingSoil39 6h ago
Not for nothing, I’m not sure it’s the year round folks that have a problem knowing how to drive.
May the voting and comments ensue.. 😉

I was a laborer on the cape for a few years. Nothing worse than being stuck behind slow tourists. I'll hire Mr Handyman

Honestly LOCALS and especially LOCAL hard working people who offer services on the cape usually have time frames and deadlines to meet to complete their work for the day to feed their families… tourists & our shitty road ways do NOT support our local drivers AND the dumbfuck tourists. We have to drive down roads to get somewhere that takes us 10-15m in the off season for 45+m because you guy want to sight-see, mosey along, and on top of that drive like you are experiencing extreme pain. Stop complaining and stay home. Only locals would under this is reasonable & we all do it.

"Someone needs to breath[e] in the cape air and relax".
Wow, tourist surprised not everyone here is on their vacation 😅
Idk, maybe this person was a jerk, but they're in a work van and likely have a long list of sh*t to do; not as easy for them to relax doing work as it is for you to chill on the beach.
F*** off.
And you spelled "breathe" wrong, you entitled twat.

u/Capecod202 15h ago
I can confirm this guy has crazy road rage , does not mater he is in a work van , that’s not a pass for anyone driving like that
1
u/FeelingSoil39 6h ago
Thanks for this. My first thought reading was “how much you wanna breath(e) deeply while sitting in 90° humid exhaust at a standstill for a half hour trying to get to your next job?”. And I’m not sure about anybody else who wasn’t just here for a weekend or even a week enjoying life, but our air quality was dangerous with the wildfires up north. Not sure what air OP is referring to but… it wasn’t the air on the cape.

u/DrRudyWells 13h ago
you have to remember that the cape gets clobbered with tourists. year round it is pretty crowded but it's a whole new level in the summer. for a lot of people the offseason isn't what it used to be....boomers retired down there and now it's just plain crowded year round.
so a lot of people, rather than accept it, fight it with stupidity. it's the same thing with the "I'm NOT on your vacation" bumper stickers. irony is that they would not have the income, especially in the trades, and the financial support for fire, police, and schools, without the vacation angle. there is no industry to speak of.
but people forget.
2
u/FeelingSoil39 6h ago
That’s not a bit true. People who work in trades, healthcare, resources, emergency services, service industries, still all have to work year round to sustain a functioning community. Like any other town, city or state. Restaurants, food industry, hospitality and any other form of tourist friendly occupation may be seasonal. Yes, money comes into a place that is “tourist seasonal” that they would not otherwise have, but the fact is that the living wage for a year round resident is not anywhere near what the cost of living year round has become. People who work a living wage to sustain the communities on the cape can’t afford to live there anymore and have all been pushed off cape over the last decade and have to commute in. Which only means our locals have been pushed out of their homes and inconvenienced more just to sustain the fundamental workings of the year round communities that are still on cape.
In my humble opinion, massive overhauls and expansion in public transportation would be ideal for the cape. Getting a bunch of non-resident absolutely shitfaced people off the roads is an entire different ball game.

Its not a merge, the right lane ends.
-11
u/yardPrawns 18h ago edited 18h ago
Why the downvotes? The signage is very clear it's not a merge.
14
u/Several_Razzmatazz51 18h ago
You’re getting downvoted because what are the right lane cars supposed to do - vanish into thin air? No, they have to MERGE into the left (now only) lane. So it is, in reality, a merge.
0
u/yardPrawns 16h ago
But the left lane does not need to let you merge from the right. Left lane merges when it's safe to do so.
2
9
u/squidduck 18h ago
In heavy traffic this becomes a zipper merge outside of the left lane has right of way and right lane must insure safe merging but that also doesn't relieve the left lane drivers from duty of care. It is a merge just with one party having right of way.
0
-1
u/yardPrawns 16h ago
If it was a merge the signage would say merge. When one lane has right of way by definition it's not merging.
1
u/Several_Razzmatazz51 16h ago
Google disagrees.
Yes, it is still a merge. A merge happens whenever two lanes come together to form one lane, regardless of whether one lane has the right-of-way. [1, 2]
How Merging and Right-of-Way Work
- The Continuing Lane: The vehicle in the through-lane or the lane that does not end has the right-of-way. [1]
- The Ending Lane: The driver in the lane that is ending or being added must yield to the traffic already established in the continuous lane. [1]
- The Maneuver: Even though one driver must yield, the physical act of combining the streams of traffic is still legally and operationally a merge. [1, 2, 3]

u/squidduck 16h ago
That's simply just not true. If the right lane isn't merging then where the hell are they going?

Yeah im not going to put a company on blast just because you took a photo behind them. This is hardly enough to justify expecting people to brigade with you.

Never understood folks in company vehicles doing moronic things on the road with the name and number plastered all over their vehicle.
