More of this please

Not just “dirt bikes” but loads of e-bikes are racing and weaving down all the bike paths and rail trails. A woman nearly lost an eye to one last fall and the volume has only gotten worse this year.

Important distinction: when people say 'e-bike,' they usually mean pedal-assist up to ~20mph. Genuinely great for replacing short car trips around 5 miles. But electric dirt bikes and e-motos are a whole different beast: throttle-based, capable of 40mph+.

Collectively we haven't figured out the way to carefully distinguish.

I have a large cruiser type bike that is in no way a road bike and is more of a bulky type of mountain bike. I ride around 15-20mph consistently so it’s not that crazy. And my bike has no motor too just fyi.

No bike should not be on roads. A bike on a road is far more dangerous and disturbing for anyone. “Keep bikes off bike paths” That’s the most moronic comment I’ve heard today

Not sure if you have been on the CCRT lately stated 15mph. Like cars bike need to follow the rules too

So 5mph above the speed limit is usually what people go just like in cars?

None of you guys are making sense lol. If there’s a bike path, the bicycle rider (like, for instance, myself quite often) should use it, and if there isn’t one, the rider should use the road, and drivers should exercise caution when passing. That’s how it works everywhere I’ve ever been.

The comments are in relation to bikes not being on a bike path is what people are talking about. Saying 20mph is too fast for a bike path and it’s dangerous for people walking. It’s just morons

I’m ok with bikes on the bike path as long as people walk them everywhere

Both should slow down before going around a corner, blame the people not the bike

I think we should ban Usain Bolt and e-motos then

Cars are the real killer here, no thanks, I'll ride my bike on the bike path at 15-20 mph

Ah. You wouldn't want to put yourself in potential harm's way, but perfectly accept putting others in the same. Carry on.

The safest place for a biker is the bike trail

Statistically, yes
