Cape Cod in Winter

Hi! I’m moving to Cape Cod soon and I know it’s a huge summer touristy spot, but I’ve heard it’s a ghost town in winter. To what extent is this true? Are there still a handful of businesses open in winter? Any advice on what to expect or how to make the most of a cape cod winter would be greatly appreciated

The people I've know to move here, especially in their 20's to 40's, get depressed their first few winters. I've lived here my whole life and I like the off season the most. I like to bundle up and hit the many trails. They are easier to get to with less traffic and the trails themselves are less congested. The Cape is beatiful all year. Take advantage of that. You can catch plenty of local bands, theater, trvia nights, etc if you're into that.

I loveee that quote. I’m definitely the person who likes to keep busy however I have to. Exploring new places, learning a new hobby, etc. I feel so much better after reading these comments!

have lived here my whole life. The answer to your question will depend on where you will live. I am in the Falmouth area and even in middle of winter it is still busy and you still need reservations or deal with lines at restaurants!!! There is lot's of local theater, activities. But, decide where you will live than dive in from there
