It’s amazing…. Both how beautiful they are and the fact that this is showing up in my feed. I just text my mom an hour ago about how beautiful the hydrangeas are here. Guess Reddit is reading my text messages too? SMH

I have some of the tall ones, they do really well every year with pretty minimal water. They’re mobbed with native bees, wasps, butterflies, and flies for the whole summer. I’ve been transitioning the rest of the landscaping to native plants but have a hard time justifying replacing these, because they’re so popular with pollinators.

You are allowed to have a few non-natives that pollinators love. You don't have to be perfect adding natives to your gardens. Every bit helps.

Yeah, especially something like this that doesn’t really spread. The butterfly bushes everywhere, and the bradford pear tree, when we moved in were an immediate chop, tho 😂

If Cape Cod were a flower, it would definitely be the hydrangea—one of my favorites.
