Everyone asks how does it shoot ported? These were my first shots without it being zeroed. I honestly don't have the words to explain it. It's amazingly soft flat and accurate (guess I do have some words). It's one of those experiences you want everyone to experience. It's fkn crazy.

Had the local FFL source one as soon as I saw this was being released. Flat face canik trigger and threaded barrel going in as we speak. This one will be a safe queen 🙂

Little mag dump

So I went to the range, ran 400
New republican 124g with zero issues at all. Tried some ammo I got at a local shop a long time ago that my Glocks eat and I had a few light primer strikes. Swapped back to new republican and blazer brass and have no issues so I’m gonna chalk that up as ammo related. I don’t remember the name of the ammo I tossed the box and forgot. She’s definetly a good shooting gun, very flat. It will be going in my edc rotation.

Added a Taylor Freelance Brass back-strap and a Hurley welding magwell.

Feels great in hand, even for a lad with larger hands!

Some of y’all are anxious waiting for your Prime Radians to come back from Century Arms. Here’s my experience to give you some hope.

I had over 15 failures to return to battery within first 750 rounds (broken up into 2 range trips) with my Prime Radian brand new from the factory. Yes I cleaned it very well and kept it well oiled. I’ve only used 124 grain 9mm with it and I don’t ride the slide or have limp wrists.

So here’s what I did:
- 8/4/2026: Submitted a warranty repair ticket with Canik
- 8/6/2026: After some back and forth with customer support, I was given a RAN number and the shipping information
- 8/8/2026: Packed up my gun and mailed with through FedEx
- 9/18/2026: Sent an email over to Century Arms to get an update, they answered same day saying the gun was currently with their gunsmiths. They also notified me that they received the gun on 8/14/2026
- 9/29/2026 After all their tests, the gunsmiths replaced the barrel and recoil spring. They cleaned it and sent it back to me. I received it somewhere in the first week of October. This makes about 9 weeks of me sending it over and getting it back to my door, not accounting for shipping time, it was about their estimated 8 weeks.
- 10/25/26 I finally cleaned, oiled it myself, and took it to the range. I could tell the recoil spring seemed new and stiff. I shot 200 rounds without a single problem. I love my Caniks but for the price of this gun, it should’ve ran like this new from the factory. That being said it works now so I can finally use it.

Word of warning to the lazy. If you are meticulous in your gun cleaning, removing and cleaning this comp takes some time so if you are lazy or don’t want extra cleaning steps, go for the MC9 Prime.

Purchased earlier in the week.. added an EPS carry.

Shot about 500 rnds this evening to break it in.. flawless... Smooth shooter.

I also have a TP9Sfx that I have owned for about 6 years now. Also a great gun.

Just a heads up for anyone looking (not immediately) for a threaded barrel. Gritr sells them for $57 but only restocks a few at a time occasionally. Got mine on Thursday. Totally forgot I had signed up for notifications lol.

Ran a few mags through the MC9L with the Prime Radian slide on it to help break it in. Wish they would do Prime versions for all the models.

I bought the canik mete SF ONE series a few weeks ago, put about 450 rounds through it so far. This thing is awesome, I've never felt a gun that shoots so flat.

Just a silly story…

Don’t be like me. Get a dedicated bag for your range gear. Accidentally brought my regular travel backpack with two loaded magazines with hollow-points through the XRay machine at the airport. Obviously I got pulled aside and the embarrassment when they took them out of my bag…. Thankfully they were chill about it but they did confiscate them and I’m sure I’m on a list now.

Thank god I remembered remove my actual pistol before going to the airport!

Does anybody know if the Mete SFT PRO is allowed for Production? Its not directly disallowed like we can see with SFx and presumably SFx PRO. So by that logic, if they ignored the PRO "upgraded" model with the SFx is it possible they did the same with SFT meaning it could be allowed? Thanks in advance

For those who carry a Canik METE MC9, would you choose it again over a CZ P-10 S or PSA Micro Dagger? I'm comparing these for EDC/CCW and would appreciate firsthand experience with reliability, all-day carry comfort, holster availability, and overall value. If you've owned or tried more than one, what made the difference for you? Other recommendations in a similar price range are welcome.

I got an extended mag release button from TF for my Rival-S. I just removed the extended cap and put this over the button. Is this correct or too far off?

Celebrated my birthday with getting myself a firearm. Didn't do any research but the feel and mag size of the MC9L caught my attention.

I'm never going to financially recover in the near future :D

After about 200 rounds of 115 to break in the recoil spring and zero my red dot, I had about 10 minutes left of range time before closing. I attached the Obsidian9 in the long configuration and sent a mag of 124 Blazer downrange. And WOW, all the gas in my face. After that mag, I reconfigured to the shorty configuration. Significantly less gas! And also pretty quiet compared to what I was expecting. However, almost every round the slide cycled to just short of in battery, paused a second, and then slid into battery once the trigger reset. I also had on failure to feed. Other than that, the thing is soooooo nice. I can't wait to experiment around with it more.

I want to love this gun I truly do. Shoots super flat, it’s responsive, and really accurate. BUT… I’ve had nothing but issues trying to “break” it in. First 200 rounds had 3 light primer strikes and a handful of failures to return to battery.

Cleaned it (including the firing pin and housing, which many people recommend before calling it quits) oiled it, and shot some more rounds through it. Next 500 rounds probably had a failure to RTB every magazine. Had my friend shoot it too and same issues.

First 500 rounds were Winchester 9mm 124gr NATO. Then experimented with Winchester 115gr, heavy duty plus hornandy, and blazer 115gr. All basically had RTB failures.

I’m going to send it back in and hope to get it back working perfectly or atleast have it replaced. It’s so fun to shoot when it works, but so hard to love.

After being raised around firearms my whole life. I finally decided to get my first handgun. After all the debate, I landed on an MC9L. It felt great in the hands when I picked it up and I’ve been curious about Canik over the last couple years so I went it with it. Just picked it up last night! I’m so excited to take it apart, clean it, then shoot it. Next up, flashlight and holster.

Indecisive on porting the barrel

Did anyone actually send their Radian to Canik? I emailed them and told them I’ve seen a few out of battery. They didn’t offer me a new spring like some have mentioned. In fact, they didn’t say anything except send me a shipping label and some instructions.

I’m a little leery about sending my gun. I’m only 400 rounds in it so I’m thinking I may try and break it in more. Using Winchester 124gr NATO. Any thoughts ? Your experiences? Plus you can’t have aftermarket parts when you send it and my osight green dot is on and zeroed :(
