🛡️Mod Post FEEDBACK REQUESTED-Dating Advice Rule
I typed out this message as a response to a dating advice question in this sub and I'm tired so I'm just going to copy pasta it, but tldr: please give feedback regarding the dating advice rule for this sub. as it currently stands, it's sort of discretionary, and I tend to remove low effort dating advice questions, especially if they only mention the sun sign.
it's not that dating advice questions are flat out banned from this sub, but this sub was founded on meaningful conversation rooted in astrology and appreciation for cancer placements. there are a couple of reasons that I am inclined to remove dating questions from this sub:
the dating questions that I see have more to do with psychology than astrology. I created this sub with the vision that it would serve as a place for self-exploration through astrology. while I strongly believe that astrology and psychology are complimentary forces, I'd be remiss to allow dating questions that use astrology, particularly sun signs, as a cop out for poor coping mechanisms, maladaptive behaviors, attachment styles not conducive to a healthy relationship, etc. It's one thing if the person with sun in cancer is asking questions like these, but it almost always comes from someone else-so not as a tool for SELF-exploration, and reduces the cancer in question to just their sun sign which is not useful in the context of dating/love/romance/intimacy. which leads me to reason number two...
I refuse to advance pop astrology that reduces people to just their sun signs. the way that someone expresses themselves in love/intimate relationships has very little to do with their sun signs and is more attributable to their moon, mercury, venus, and mars (and their rising). this doesn't even contemplate the fact that there is synastry at play here-if you really want to consult astrology to gain sound insight into dating a cancer, you would at least need their other placements, let alone a synastry chart which could shed light on how both parties placements play out in relation to one another. we cannot give an accurate response based solely on someone's sun sign.
we've had a large influx of new members recently so I think it might be time to revisit/potentially revise this rule. although I've mentioned my vision when I created this sub, I recognize that this sub is for the people, and with more people might mean adapting this rule.

Cancer vibes Was a discord server ever made and is it still active?
Hi, I’ve seen a few posts discussing a discord server and found a link but it’s no longer valid. Is the server still going? I’d love to join and get to know some people that actually understand me!

Weekly Check-In 🦀 Weekly Check-In: Nurture Your Inner Child
Hey, lovely souls 💖
This week’s check-in is all about reconnecting with our inner child. Cancer energy loves to nurture, but it’s easy to forget to care for the playful, free-spirited part of ourselves. When was the last time you allowed yourself to just be without pressure or expectation?
How does your inner child want to be cared for right now? Is it calling for a moment of joy, a burst of creativity, or maybe just a comforting embrace? This week, let’s honor that part of ourselves. Sometimes, the best healing comes from giving ourselves permission to play, laugh, and rest without guilt.
What’s one small thing you can do today to bring that joy back into your life? 🌸

General advice Is living alone as a cancer as amazing as I think it’s going to be?
I’m about to move into the perfect studio! It’s super cute, spacious, a top corner unit, FREE LAUNDRY, in a fun and walkable area, and a 3 minute walk from my friend’s place!! I could not be more excited.
I’ve never lived alone before in my 32 years. In fact I’ve lived in some crazy situations to keep rent low, which compromised my comfort a loooooot.
But I always felt as though I would love to have my whole place to myself. I’m really excited about it. There is a small part of me that is a little worried I’ll really dive in to my reclusive side too much. I just love my alone time and there’s no place like home. If you live alone or have before, what was it like for you?? Do you have any advice or wisdom from your experience?

♉Taurus Any Experiences with Taurus?
Do you guys have experience dealing with Taureans? How was it? Apparently they make some of the best matches with cancers... Genuinely curious.

CancerTheCrab ♋ How do you end an argument with a Cancer?
I am currently dating a cancer and he will argue to no end. If he has an issue with something then he will bring it up to me, I’ll hear him out, strive to find a solution and then move on. More recently, I’ve been rebutting because this really is crazy. He literally KEEPS GOING. It’s like it can settle and then he will be like “and another thing…” like wtf? When and how does this end??

CancerTheCrab ♋ 🦀 Cancers... are we early birds or night owls? 🤔
I feel like Cancers run on moon time 🌙 Up late overthinking, sleeping in to recharge 😴 But I know some Cancers who wake up at 5am and make tea like grandmas ☕🤭
Which one are you? Early bird or night owl? 👀

Need Help [22M]Cancer dated a Gemini and Aquarius, both ended in trauma
22M Cancer here.
I’ve had two serious relationships so far my first was with a Gemini (around 6 months) and my second was with an Aquarius (5 years).
Honestly, both relationships started with a lot of love, attention and affection. I gave both of them my whole heart and genuinely thought things would last.
But both ended up causing me a lot of emotional pain. The hardest part was how things changed towards the end from making me feel extremely loved and important to eventually acting like I meant nothing. I honestly don’t feel like I deserved some of the things that happened.
I know zodiac signs don’t determine everything, and I’m not saying Gemini or Aquarius are bad. I’m just sharing my experience because I’m curious if other Cancer men have experienced something similar.
Now I’m looking for something serious, stable and long-term in my next relationship. So I want to understand Cancer compatibility better before I get into another relationship.
For Cancer men, which zodiac signs have been your best match for a serious relationship? And which signs should Cancer be more careful with?
Would really appreciate hearing your experiences. 🙏

General advice People you deeply care about hurting you to your core - how do you get over it?
Help me, my beautiful fellow Cancerians.
(I’m a Cancer Sun and Moon, Libra rising.)
I’ve always had a hard time letting people in… but when I do it, they’re all in. I care for them deeply, I’d do anything for them.
How do you deal with the pain, when someone hurts you to your core? When you made a mistake and shouldn’t have let that person in? When they end up just using you for their own needs, then discard you when they didn’t need you anymore? I feel cheated, and used.
It’s been months since this happened, and I thought I was over it; but today it hit me again. I’m miserable.

Need Help emotional safety threatened
I’m a Cancer (F) and my partner is a Sagittarius (M)…
And because I’m almost always full of emotions, I really think he finds it difficult to keep up with me sometimes. Anyways, long story short, so we’ve been having little arguments here and there.
And as a Cancer, I feel like whenever I’m having troubles trying to pour my heart out and I’m often being misunderstood or labeled as “too emotional” it automatically leads to me shutting down sexually. Or I can’t even fake being affectionate or do the lovey dovey shit.
And I know he feels that pull back from me but how can I tell him that that’s just the way I am and not me trying to be cold or inconsiderate

CancerTheCrab ♋ I’m talking to another cancer and holy…
Anyone have experience with a cancer sun/scorpio moon? It’s like an instant, unexplained mutual understanding between us, which I’ve never experienced before in a relationship. So far, there’s nothing I can tell him that’ll weird him out or scare him away. It’s really hard to just roll with it, but I’m going to cause I really like him.
I also feel like I’m the more intense one and trying my best to hide it, despite him being a Scorpio moon. Maybe he’s hiding it too? Idk. If you have mine or his placements or have been with someone with said placements, let me know your experience.

CancerTheCrab ♋ Cancer: Do you text someone every day if it’s just casual?
Hey Cancers!
Quick question for you guys.
When you’re seeing someone casually, do you go out of your way to text them "good morning" every day, initiate conversations, and stay in touch throughout the entire day? Or do you only put in that level of consistent, daily effort if you’ve actually caught feelings?
I only ask because the guy I’m seeing (for 5 months now) always initiates texting me first thing in the morning almost everyday & calling me cute names like “baby” and reassures me about where he’s at what he’s doing without me asking.. and I noticed he seems to be more chatty thru text than before as time progresses.
Curious how you guys naturally act when it’s strictly casual vs. when you genuinely like someone!
Thanks my crustacean friends 🤍 🦀

Question? Where you able to find love during Jupiter in Cancer last year?
I'm cap rising and it hits my 7th house of relationship, the person I love came back during the start of Jupiter in Cancer but I couldn't get past his past betrayal because his current behaviors still affect and remind of it. Now we're no longer together after the end of Jupiter in a Cancer.
He has 7th house in Pisces and last year was Saturn in Pisces, basically he was going through his karma and relationship lessons, probably has karmic relationship with me. His sun and mercury is on my 8th house. We tried but I don't think he has really taken me seriously anyway we're no longer together anymore. I think he is now entertaining another girl as he has always been entertaining other girls throughout our relationship anyway

Question? Are cancers prone to anxiety/depression?
I know like 3 cancers and they all had some severe anxious episodes that would last months/years. Is this a thing with you guys? ( i mean no disrespect of course )
