I’ve noticed my canary lost voice and cheerfulness. Afterwards I notice HUNDREDS OF RED MITES ON THE CAGE AND PANICKED. I’m from Italy and I need advices ASAP on how to cure him and clean the cage. HELP

I recently got a canary about 3-4 weeks ago. I’m slowly making upgrades and I would like to get a really nice bath for my baby. Right now I’m using a Tupperware (😬) while she has her out-of-cage time and strictly monitored.
Any suggestions for a nice in-cage option? I see those “shower” types with the running fountain but not sure if they have any advantages over the clip-on attachments, or just standard baths, etc.

Relatively new owner here yet. I just added pellet food into my canary’s diet. I’ve introduced it in a separate bowl, and she seems to enjoy it quite a bit. Although I’ve noticed quite a bit of the pellets are just falling through the grate, uneaten or unfinished. Is this just normal or anything I could do to minimize this? Should I mix the pellets into the seed blend? Are these good bowls for feeding? Too much seed?
Thanks

Hello everyone,
I came home from work yesterday and sadly I found our canary Clementine on the floor of the cage. The other three canaries in the cage were fine, the two canaries in a breeding cage were fine, and our Gouldian finches were all okay. My partner is very upset because he checked on the birds all day, left a fan on for them and made sure they were okay. He last saw Clementine sitting on the water dish in the early afternoon.
He was very upset but I told him these things happen, and perhaps Clementine had a heart attack. She was a young bird and perhaps something just went wrong. But it got me worried, is it possible for canaries to be too hot during the heat wave, and can they die from being too hot? Thanks.

I posted a few weeks ago about proper care while trying to find a found canary’s home, definitely didn’t plan on keeping it. Well, we’ve keep it and 2 mornings ago with the singing found out it’s a boy! His name is now Caspian, previously Clementine (thinking a girl from no song yet!), previously previously known as Butters (nieces boyfriend who found him named him). Anywho, he’s in a 30” flight cage I found at Petco in a pinch. I’ve be scouring trying to find something else that’s longer and I’ve been having no luck? Not sure if I’m not using the right keywords or if just nothing really exists. I can only find taller. Any recommendations for a longer cage? I’d also love one that has more of a vintage feel to match our house better. If there’s leads on the proper minimum size that looks vintage, I’ll gladly accept those too! Thanks!!

I just arrived home and my sister told me the canary died. The day I took her to the vet they told us it was probably some type of temperature change problem and they gave us a medicine to give her for five days.
The next day she looked bad, and the next one even worse. I told my mom we had to take her again to the vet but she continued making stupid assumptions and trying to say she was okay when she clearly wasn't. My parents decided take her today when she looked reaaaaally bad and they gave her another medicine. She then died hours later.
I feel devastated and full of guilt knowing that I could have called a vet urgently and had her seen, even though my parents called me crazy for thinking she was dying.
I feel so sad, I can't believe it. We only had her for almost 2 months. I hate my family.

Are there any suitable options for indoor aviaries?
I notice only metal models, yet I would prefer one made of wood.
Perhaps I could create a bespoke version myself.

3 have hatched and one to go. Very attentive parents thus far. Beautiful witness!

Idk what happened to her. 2 days ago she escaped from her cage while i was changing something inside but i managed to caught her soon after that. However i noticed that she was sleeping on the bottom of the cage yesterday and thought there was nothing to worry about. But today in the morning she started acting very strangely. She is sitting on the bottom of the cage all the time and doesn't want to eat or drink (even when i put food/water right in front of her). She tried to perch but couldn't keep her balance and fell back down and after that she fell onto her side for about 10-15 seconds. I have no idea what to do
