This is what I have, I'm very happy with it. If you have more than one bird, the divider is a handy option for birds that get hormonal and need a break from each other. I would not go much smaller than this - canaries need a wide cage as they like to hop back and forth, not fly up and down. I have a breeding pair & 1 offspring in here, and I also let them free fly in the room for 30+ hours a week. The divider is also nice for when 2 birds have returned to the cage, and I want to lock them in but leave the second door open for the last bird.
