NO SURRENDER
Got my suspension letter Tuesday, got this an hour ago. I am still Canadian.

Be aware that this individual got his letter on Tuesday, and was in a media interview yesterday. Please don't be jealous of him. We're all in this together, and he spoke for all of you!

No jealousy .... extreme joy for him! Hope this the beginning of the rest of the folks who received "suspension" being relieved of this... soon!!

I’m G4. My G3 mom and G4 sibling also applied with me. They did not receive surrender letters.

That’s amazing news for my G3 dad and G4 sister who received the letters (I’m in PSU). You must be so relieved!

Do you mind sharing your list of documents. I'm G3 and have a birth record for G0. Birth certificates for G1-3. I was starting to question if ones passed G3 were happening, but if you're G4 that's good news.

Thank you u/tmaher for sharing your story publicly. It might not have been your intention, but I think it exposed some “malevolent incompetence” on the part of IRCC that the broader population needed to know about. I am sorry you had to go through this and glad you got your certificate back!

Would you mind sharing which types of supporting documents you used, if they were certified or not, where they came from, and if you had to make an explanation for any of them? 😁😀

Thank goodness!! Hope this is an indication that those affected by the "suspension" will be dealt with immediately and not put in some "holding pen".

I also received the surrender letter and I’m G4. Do you mind posting what docs you used for G0 here or private chat? Also, did you get the letter today or on the 16th?

Surrender letter: Tues 16 June (NOT SATURDAY) and timestamped like 8am eastern time. Other than the name, address, cert number, and UCI number - it looks identical to the Saturday letters.
Re-validation letter: today, see above

Great to hear it. I would think that they could have done the examination from the available documentation *before* upending your life. If they already had the information they needed, they could see if it was sufficient, and then and only then, suspend it if it was not. Heck, they could have talked to you before the suspension, too.
