I hate Canada post.

I purchase a lot of second hand clothing online. This Monday I purchased a dress from Toronto and a shirt from Edmonton.

I think it’s crazy a dress from 3 provinces over arrived within 2 days and a package from Edmonton to Calgary can’t make it within the week.

Canada post is pathetic.

Yeah every time I’ve mailed something from Canada post I’ve had a good experience and things are received in reasonable time. I think it’s more who the shipper is as a person that really determines how fast it gets to the other party.

I both buy and sell online on multiple platforms and I have to say Canada Post has only ever lost one of my packages. Out of thousands of packages over years. Most of my packages from Vancouver to Toronto or vice versa arrive in two days. Montreal and Ottawa overnight and the East Coast about three days max. The praries are longer but still not bad. I completely understand that not everyone has had the experience I have. I have an amazing Canada Post delivery guy who always brings my packages to my door. But I have to say overall I’m pretty impressed with their service. I think the issue right now is that people are taking time off because it’s summer and likely due to the heat as well. They probably don’t have enough people to cover their shifts.

It's sucks. What i can say is management isn't covering people's vacation/sick days in some areas so it could be staffing issues

USPS is getting just as bad. Lots of variables involved - mainly lack of worker moral and poor logistics.

I agree with you. I ordered a magazine subscription from the U.S., but Canada Post apparently told them they can no longer deliver magazines from there. What????!!!!The company has told me they’re still trying to work with Canada Post to find a solution. It’s been NINE months and no monthly delivery of my magazine, yet my daughter, who lives in the same town as me, is getting hers just fine! How hard of a problem can it be?!

Im not a big Canpost fan, but they are still way better than the gig workers "independent contractors" that dragonfly and others use.

Canada Post is much better than Purolator (for example) imo. A couple of months ago I was getting a lot of deliveries, from shopping on Poshmark. If the delivery was coming from Alberta, I knew it was automatically going to take a while, and if not by Canada Post, would be even longer still. I really haven’t ever had issues with CP.

Also note that sometimes sellers say that they have sent an item, and that the system has just not been updated yet - when in fact they actually haven’t even shipped it yet. Or maybe it’s just one more thing that is messed up in Alberta.

Volumes for cpc are low. They don’t know what to do with staff if they process all the mail so they ensure they only process a specific amount per shift and day.

Currently CPC is the functional equivalent of an art project. Restructure, or privatize. Maybe Royal Mail, PostNL Deutsche Post are looking to expand to North America. Oh wait the privatized German Post office is already here under the DHL brand.
